The 12th European Cross Country Championships were held at Tilburg in Netherlands on 11 December 2005. Serhiy Lebid won the men's competition for the sixth time and Lornah Kiplagat won the women's race. The European Athletic Association (more commonly known as European Athletics) is the governing body for Sport of athletics, athletics in Europe. Fernando Silva (distance Runner)
Fernando Sérgio Rigor Silva (born 1 March 1980) is a Portuguese former long-distance runner who competed at distances from 3000 metres to the marathon. He represented his country in the marathon at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics and the 2010 European Athletics Championships. He has also competed at four editions of the World Athletics Cross Country Championships and six editions of the European Cross Country Championships. He shared in a team bronze medal with the Portuguese men at the 2003 European Cross Country Championships. He was twice national champion at the Portuguese Cross Country Championships. Liz Yelling
Elizabeth Anne Yelling (née Talbot; born 5 December 1974, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire) is a British long-distance runner currently based in Poole, Dorset. She is the sister-in-law of fellow British runner Hayley Yelling through her marriage to steeplechaser Martin Yelling and is the former training partner of Paula Radcliffe. Inga Eduardovna Abitova (russian: Инга Эдуардовна Абитова, born 6 March 1982 in Novokuybyshevsk) is a Russian Long-distance track event, long-distance Running, runner, who specializes in the 10,000 metres and the marathon. Hayley Yelling
Hayley Higham (born 3 January 1974, in Dorchester) is a British runner. She is the sister-in-law of fellow British runner Liz Yelling. She works as a Maths teacher at Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and runs for the Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow Athletic Club. She has competed for England in the Commonwealth Games and for Great Britain in a number of competitions. In December 2004 she won the European Cross Country Championship in Heringsdorf. In December 2009 she won the European Cross Country Championship in Dublin after coming out of retirement from competitive running. She followed this up a month later by coming fourth in the 2010 International Edinburgh Cross Country, fourteen seconds after winner Tirunesh Dibaba over the freezing 5.8 kilometre course. Anikó Kálovics (born 13 May 1977) is a Hungarian runner who specializes in the 10,000 metres and the marathon. She is a four-time Olympian (2000–2012) and has won both the Venice Marathon and Italian Marathon. Career She was born in Szombathely, and represents the club Haladás Vasutas Sportegyesület. In 1996, she finished in 11th place in the women's 5000 metres at the 1996 World Junior Championships in Athletics held in Sydney, Australia. Olivera Jevtić ( sr-Cyrl, Оливера Јевтић, born 24 July 1977) is a Serbian long-distance runner. She has represented her country five times at the Olympics in 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. Running career Jevtić was born in Titovo Užice, Yugoslavia, otherwise known presently as Užice, Serbia. Her parents are father Milorad and mother Draginja. She is based in her native city, coached by Slavoljub "Slavko" Kuzmanović, and she competes for the running club AK Mladost Užice. Jevtić holds the Serbian marathon record of 2:25:23, which she established at the Rotterdam Marathon in 2003. Johanna Nilsson
Johanna Nilsson (27 March 1983 – 25 June 2013) was a Swedish middle- and long-distance runner. She was a bronze medallist at the European Cross Country Championships in 2005. Despite an early retirement in 2006 she had a highly successful collegiate career in the United States, winning three NCAA indoor titles and winning the NCAA Women's Division I Cross Country Championship in 2005. Her sister, Ida Nilsson, was also an international distance runner. Career A native of Kalmar, Sweden, she competed in running competitions at young age. She is a two-time winner of the Cologne Marathon and has also won the Frankfurt Marathon and the Berlin Half Marathon.
