2005 Cleveland Browns Season
The 2005 season was the Cleveland Browns' 53rd in the National Football League (NFL) and their 57th overall. It was their 1st season under general manager Phil Savage and head coach Romeo Crennel. They posted a record of 6–10, improving upon their 2004 record of 4–12. However, the Browns failed to qualify for the playoffs for the third consecutive season. Romeo Crennel
Romeo Crennel (born June 18, 1947) is a former American football coach, who was the senior advisor for football performance for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). A former long-time coaching assistant to Bill Parcells, Crennel served as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns from 2005 to 2008 and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012, as well an assistant coach for six NFL teams and four College football, collegiate teams. He has over 50 years of coaching experience, which has included consistently being employed as a coach for all but two seasons since 1970, only taking the 2009 and 2013 seasons off following both of his tenures as a permanent head coach. Charlie Frye
Charles Thomas Frye (born August 28, 1981) is a former American football quarterback and former quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Akron. He's currently offensive coordinator for Florida Atantic Early years Frye graduated from Willard High School in Willard, Ohio, and was a football standout at quarterback under coach Chris Hawkins. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. Nicholas David Speegle (born November 29, 1981) is a former American football linebacker. He played in the National Football League (NFL) with the Cleveland Browns from 2005 to 2006. Speegle played college football at the University of New Mexico. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses.
