2005 Chinese Super League
The 2005 Chinese Super League season was the second season of China's top-tier football competition. With no relegation the previous season, the league expanded from 12 to 14 clubs with the promotion of Shanghai Zobon and Wuhan Huanghelou. The season was scheduled to start on 5 March 2005, but was postponed until April due to a sponsorship problem and finished on 5 November with Dalian Shide, seven-time champions in the old first division, clinching their eighth title. Defending champions Shenzhen Jianlibao finished third from bottom, the second consecutive year in which the defending champions has done so. The FA had announced at the start of the season that no teams would be relegated for this season and they kept to this decision. Chinese Super League
The Chinese Football Association Super League, commonly known as Chinese Super League or CSL, currently known as the China Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the highest tier of professional football in China, operating under the auspices of the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The league was established in 2004 by the rebranding of the former top division, Chinese Jia-A League. Initially contested by 12 teams in its inaugural year, the league has since expanded, with 18 teams competing in the 2022 season. A total of 35 teams have competed in the CSL since its inception, with 8 of them winning the title: Guangzhou (eight), Shandong Taishan (four), Shenzhen, Dalian Shide, Changchun Yatai, Beijing Guoan, Shanghai Port, and Jiangsu (all one title). Shenyang Ginde
Guangzhou City Football Club (广州城) is a Chinese professional football club that competes in the Chinese Super League under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Guangzhou, Guangdong, and their home venue is the Yuexiushan Stadium which has a seating capacity of 18,000. They are owned by the Chinese property developers R&F Properties who took charge in June 2011. The club's name between 2011 and 2020 was Guangzhou R&F, which was short for ''rich (富)'' and ''force (力)''. The club changed its name to Guangzhou City in December 2020. The club was founded in 1986 in Shenyang, Liaoning as Shenyang Football Team. They played at the 55,000-seat Wulihe Stadium (五里河体育场), until they moved to Changsha, Hunan in 2007 to reside in the Helong Stadium. Gilsinho (footballer, Born 1977)
Gílson Domingos Rezende Agostinho (born September 18, 1977 in Taubaté) more commonly known simply as Gilsinho, is a former Brazilian footballer who played as a striker. In his career, he was predominantly remembered for his association with his hometown football club Taubaté in Brazil as well as time with Chinese Super League club Wuhan Guanggu where he won the 2005 Chinese Super League Cup with them. Club career Gilsinho's father was an amateur footballer who encouraged him and his brother to take up the sport. When he grew up he would go on to become a professional footballer and started his career playing for his hometown football club Taubaté in the Brazilian Campeonato Paulista Série A3 division. Xie Hui (footballer)
Xie Hui (; born February 14, 1975 in Shanghai) is a former professional Chinese football player who is currently the head coach for Dalian Professional. As a player Xie Hui represented Shanghai Shenhua throughout the majority of his career, having several spells with them and winning a Chinese league title and Chinese FA Cup with the club. He also represented Chongqing Lifan and German clubs Alemannia Aachen, SpVgg Greuther Fürth and SV Wehen Wiesbaden throughout his career. While internationally he would play in the 1996 AFC Asian Cup and 2000 AFC Asian Cup. Club career Xie Hui started his professional football career with Shanghai Shenhua in the 1994 season. Zou Jie
Zou Jie (Chinese:邹捷; born January 17, 1981, in Dalian) is a former Chinese football player. Club career Zou Jie began his professional football career for Dalian Shide in the 2000 league season, making two appearances. He rose to prominence in the 2001 Chinese season when he played in 20 games, scoring 8 goals, playing a vital part in the title winning team and would personally win the Young player of the year award. Establishing himself as a first-choice regular within the team, he would win several more league titles and Chinese FA Cup with Dalian, with the 2005 season being his most prolific when he scored 15 goals in 23 appearances. 2006 AFC Champions League
The 2006 AFC Champions League was the 25th edition of the top-level Asian club football tournament and the 4th edition under the current AFC Champions League title. Al-Ittihad qualified automatically to the quarter-finals as Cup holders. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors won their first AFC Champions League title after beating Al-Karamah 3–2 on aggregate in the final. Beijing Chengfeng Football Club () was a professional Chinese football club that last participated in the Chinese League One under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team was based in Fengtai District, Beijing and their home stadium was the Beijing Fengtai Stadium that has a seating capacity of 31,043. Their last majority shareholder was Chinese property developers of shopping centers Renhe Commercial Holdings Company Limited. The club was founded in Pudong District, Shanghai on 3 February 1995 and were originally known as Shanghai Pudong before they made their debut in the third tier of China's football league pyramid in the 1995 season. Sichuan First City () is a defunct Chinese football club, which was located in Chengdu, Sichuan where they played in the Chengdu Sports Centre. They were founded in 1953 and spent a large part of their history within the top tier of Chinese football until on November 8, 1993 they became a fully professional unit and took part in China's inaugural season of professional football in the 1994 Chinese Jia-A League season. After being the flagship of western Chinese football the club was sold to the Dahe Group in 2002, however the new owners were found to be under the influence of another Chinese football team Dalian Shide.
