2005 Belarusian First League
2005 Belarusian First League was the 15th season of 2nd level football championship in Belarus. It started in April and ended in November 2005. Team changes from 2004 season Two top teams of the last season ( Lokomotiv Minsk and Vedrich-97 Rechitsa) were promoted to Belarusian Premier League. They were replaced by two teams that finished at the bottom of 2004 Belarusian Premier League table ( Lokomotiv Vitebsk and Belshina Bobruisk). Two teams that finished at the bottom of 2004 season table ( Vertikal Kalinkovichi and Dinamo-Juni Minsk) relegated to the Second League. They were replaced by two best teams of 2004 Second League (Smena Minsk and Orsha). Vedrich-97 Rechitsa were not able to fulfill Premier League licensing criteria and remained in the First League. Molodechno-2000 (who finished 13th last season) withdrew to the Second League due to insufficient financing. Belarusian First League
The Belarusian First League is the second tier of professional football in Belarus. It was created in 1992, following the Belarusian independence. History and format The typical format of the league involves 16 clubs playing a double round-robin tournament over 30 matchdays (with the exception of shortened 1992 and 1995 seasons, which were a single round-robin tournaments). On several occasions the number of participating teams was smaller (15 or 14), due to last minute withdrawals and no teams available for replacement. In most of the seasons, two best teams are getting promoted to Belarusian Premier League, while two worst teams are relegated Belarusian Second League. FC Torpedo-Kadino Mogilev
FC Torpedo Mogilev is a Belarusian football club based in Mogilev. History The club was formed in 1959 as Kirovets Mogilev. During 1962–1963, the team played in the Belarusian SSR League, before submerging to regional and city level competitions. In 1979, the club was renamed to Torpedo Mogilev and joined the Belarusian SSR top league once again. They were third in 1979 and won their only championship title in 1982. The team began playing in the Belarusian Premier League in 1992. The first two seasons were most successful when they finished 7th (1992) and 8th (1992–93). After that, Torpedo could not get higher than 11th and mostly were struggling against relegation. In 1996, Torpedo were renamed to Torpedo-Kadino Mogilev. FC Bereza-2010 (or Byaroza-2010) was a Belarusian association football, football club based in Byaroza, Brest Oblast. History The team was founded in 1989 as ''Stroitel Bereza''.
