These page shows the results of the Beach Volleyball World Championships, held 21–26 June 2005 in Berlin, Germany. It was the fifth official edition of this event, after ten unofficial championships (1987–1996) all held in Rio de Janeiro. Christoph Dieckmann (born January 7, 1976, in Bonn) is a male beach volleyball player from Germany. He claimed the gold medal at the 2006 European Championships in The Hague, Netherlands, partnering Julius Brink. He competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Alexandre Ramos Samuel (born March 20, 1970), nickname Tande, is a former Brazilian volleyball player. He began playing volleyball for the Botafogo team when he was 12 years old. Tande won a gold medal with the Brazilian national volleyball team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Jonas Reckermann
Jonas Reckermann (born 26 May 1979 in Rheine) is a retired beach volleyball player from Germany. Together with his most recent partner Julius Brink, he won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which, along with Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst are the most successful Olympic appearances of a German beach volleyball team. They were the first European duo to win the Olympic gold medal – male or female competition. In addition to that they also were the first European team ever to win a world championship title and are currently ranked 22nd on the FIVB World Tour (as of 23 July 2012).
