The 2005 Arkansas Razorbacks football team represented the University of Arkansas during the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. Southeastern Conference
The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is an American college athletic conference whose member institutions are located primarily in the South Central and Southeastern United States. 2005 Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team
The 2005 Alabama Crimson Tide football team represented the University of Alabama during the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. This was the team's 73rd season in the SEC. The 2005 squad collected a record of 10–2 under coach Mike Shula. The team started off the season at 9–0, notching wins over Florida and Tennessee. The team lost their final two regular season games against LSU and Auburn. The Crimson Tide received a bid to the 2006 Cotton Bowl Classic against Texas Tech, where they defeated the Red Raiders on a last-second field goal by Jamie Christensen. Vaught–Hemingway Stadium at Hollingsworth Field is an outdoor athletic stadium located in University, Mississippi, United States (although it has an Oxford address). The stadium serves as the home for the University of Mississippi Rebels college football team. The stadium is named after Johnny Vaught and Judge William Hemingway. The Arkansas–Ole Miss football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Arkansas Razorbacks football team of the University of Arkansas and the Ole Miss Rebels football team of the University of Mississippi. The 2005 South Carolina Gamecocks football team represented the University of South Carolina in the Southeastern Conference during the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Gamecocks were led by Steve Spurrier in his first season as USC head coach and played their home games in Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina. Sanford Stadium is the on-campus playing venue for football at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, United States (also known as UGA). The 92,746-seat stadium is the tenth-largest stadium in the NCAA. The 2005 Georgia Bulldogs football team completed the season with a 10–3 record. Winning 10 games for the fourth year in a row, Georgia tied its own record for consecutive 10 win seasons. The Bulldogs, with a regular season SEC record of 6–2, won the SEC East and advanced to the 2005 SEC Championship Game. Georgia beat LSU in the Georgia Dome and went on to represent the SEC in the 2006 Sugar Bowl at the same stadium (a one-time deal due to the Louisiana Superdome being unfit to host that year). The 2005 Auburn Tigers football team represented Auburn University in the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season. Despite having four starters from the 2004 team selected in the first round of 2005 NFL Draft, Auburn finished the season with a 9–3 record, including a 7–1 record in the Southeastern Conference.
