Islam El Shehaby
Islam El-Shehaby ( ''ʾIslām ash-Shahābī''; born 1 August 1982) is an Egyptian former judoka. He competed at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Summer Olympics. El Shehaby was a nine-time African Champion (2002–13), and was the world bronze medalist in 2010 in Tokyo. He won five World Cup medals, and competitions in Abu Dhabi, Düsseldorf, Moscow, Qingdao, Cairo and Baku. El Shehaby won silver at the 2016 Grand Prix Düsseldorf in the O100 classification. Following controversy regarding his refusal to shake the hand of Israeli judoka Or Sasson, who defeated him at the 2016 Summer Olympics, he retired in August 2016. The Disciplinary Committee of the International Olympic Committee issued a "severe reprimand" to El Shehaby for behavior violating "the rules of fair play and against the spirit of friendship embodied in the Olympic Values," and he was sent home before the Olympics closing ceremony. Anis Chedly
Anis Chedly ( ar, انيس الشاذلي; born 19 February 1981) is a Tunisian judoka who competed in the super heavyweight division (+100 kg) and open class. He is also a six-time African, and two-time World Cup champion in the same category, and won the gold medal at the 2007 All-Africa Games in Algiers, Algeria. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Chedly was eliminated in the first preliminary round of the men's +100 kg, after being defeated by France's Teddy Riner, who eventually won the bronze medal. Hassane Azzoun ( ar, حسان عزوننير بن أمادي; born September 28, 1979) is an Algerian judoka, who played for the half-heavyweight category. He is a six-time medalist at the African Judo Championships, and also, a bronze medalist for his division at the 2007 All-Africa Games in Algiers. At age twenty-nine, Azzoun made his official debut for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed for the men's half-heavyweight class (100 kg). He lost his first preliminary match by an ippon and a sode tsurikomi goshi (sleeve lifting and pulling hip throw) to Azerbaijan's Movlud Miraliyev. Because his opponent advanced further into the semi-finals, Azzoun offered another shot for the bronze medal by entering the repechage rounds. Amadou Kanate
Amadou is a spongy material derived from '' Fomes fomentarius'' and similar fungi that grow on the bark of coniferous and angiosperm trees, and have the appearance of a horse's hoof (thus the name "hoof fungus"). It is also known as the "tinder fungus" and is useful for starting slow-burning fires. The fungus must be removed from the tree, the hard outer layer scraped off, and then thin strips of the inner spongy layer cut for use as tinder. Amadou was a precious resource to ancient people, allowing them to start a fire by catching sparks from flint struck against iron pyrites. Bits of fungus preserved in peat have been discovered at the Mesolithic site of Star Carr in the UK, modified presumably for this purpose. Remarkable evidence for its utility is provided by the discovery of the 5,000-year-old remains of " Ötzi the Iceman", who carried it on a cross-alpine excursion before his death and subsequent ice-entombment.
