2004–05 Seattle SuperSonics Season
The 2004–05 NBA season was the SuperSonics' 38th season in the National Basketball Association. After losing their season opener to the Los Angeles Clippers 114–84 on November 3, the Sonics went on a nine-game winning streak as they won 17 of their first 20 games. Despite losing eight of their final ten games, the Sonics finished first place in the Northwest Division with a solid 52–30 record, marking their first 50-plus win season since 1998, and first playoff appearance since 2002. Ray Allen led the team averaging 23.9 points per game as he, and Rashard Lewis were both voted to play in the 2005 NBA All-Star Game in Denver. In the first round of the playoffs, the Sonics defeated the Sacramento Kings in five games, but would lose in the second round to the eventual NBA champion San Antonio Spurs in six games. Nate McMillan
Nathaniel McMillan (born August 3, 1964) is an American basketball coach and former player who serves as head coach of the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He coached the Seattle SuperSonics from 2000 to 2005, the Portland Trail Blazers from 2005 to 2012, and the Indiana Pacers from 2016 to 2020. He spent his entire 12-year NBA playing career with the SuperSonics, then served as an assistant coach for one-and-a-half years and as head coach for almost five years. His long tenure as a player and coach in Seattle earned him the nickname "Mr. Sonic". The 2005 NBA All-Star Game was an exhibition basketball game which was played on February 20, 2005, at Pepsi Center in Denver, home of the Denver Nuggets. This game was the 54th edition of the North American National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game and was played during the 2004–05 NBA season. For the second time in the last six years, the East defeated the West 125–115, with Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers named the Most Valuable Player. Dean Demopoulos
Dean Demopoulos (born March 29, 1954) is an American professional basketball coach. He currently serves as head coach for the Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Early life Demopoulos was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from West Chester State in 1977 with a degree in comprehensive social sciences. He began his coaching career at Kennett High School in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. College coaching career In 1983, Demopoulos became an assistant to John Chaney at Temple University, a post he held until 2000. Dwane Casey
Dwane Lyndon Casey (born April 17, 1957) is an American basketball coach who is the head coach for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a former NCAA basketball player and coach, having played and coached there for over a decade before moving on to the NBA. Alief Elsik High School
Alief Elsik High School is a high school in the Alief region of Houston, Texas, United States. Elsik is divided into two campuses: the main campus (12601 High Star in Houston, zip code 77072), and the Alief Elsik Ninth Grade Center (located at 6767 South Dairy Ashford, city of Houston, 77072), which serves ninth graders. Both campuses, which are in the Alief Independent School District, serve grades 9 through 12. David Young (born August 18, 1981) is an American basketball player who graduated from Xavier University and North Carolina Central University and was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2004 NBA Draft. He was signed to a contract but waived a month later, before he played in any NBA games. Career He played the 2009-2010 season in Trikala 2000 BC, Trikala 2000 in the A1 Ethniki, Greek League. Andre Emmett
Andre Emmett (August 27, 1982 – September 23, 2019) was an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and was named a consensus All-American as a senior in 2004. He had brief stints in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Memphis Grizzlies and the New Jersey Nets after being selected in the second round of the 2004 NBA draft. Antonio Robert Daniels (born March 19, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player who played 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is currently the television color analyst for the New Orleans Pelicans on Bally Sports New Orleans and co-host/analyst on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
