Regular Season
In an organized sports league, a typical season is the portion of one year in which regulated games of the sport are in session: for example, in Major League Baseball the season lasts approximately from the last week of March to the last week of September. Hnat Domenichelli
Hnat A. Domenichelli (born February 16, 1976) is a Canadian-Swiss former professional ice hockey player of Ukrainian descent. He was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the fourth round, 83rd overall, of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played 267 National Hockey League (NHL) games for the Whalers, Calgary Flames, Atlanta Thrashers and Minnesota Wild between 1996 and 2003 before moving to Switzerland where he has played for the remainder of his career in the National League A. He played for Switzerland at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Domenichelli is currently the general manager of HC Lugano of the National League (NL). Tony Virta
Tony Virta (born June 18, 1972) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild as their fourth-round pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. On December 5, 2005, Virta received a serious knee injury from a failed hip check against him in a game against Ilves, but recovered to play in the last games of the season. Mark Streit
Mark Thomas Streit (born 11 December 1977) is a Swiss former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was formerly the captain of both the New York Islanders and the Swiss national team. Streit was one of the few swingmen in the NHL who could play both as a defenceman and as a forward. He was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2020. He was featured on the front cover of the Swiss versions of the ''NHL'' series of hockey games, from ''NHL 08'' to ''NHL 11''. Niklas Hagman (born December 5, 1979) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. He was a third round pick of the Florida Panthers, 70th overall, at the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut with Florida in 2001. He has also played for the Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks in the NHL, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the KHL, HIFK, Espoo Blues and Kärpät in the SM-liiga and HC Davos in the Swiss National League A. Jan Alston (born April 14, 1969) is a Canadian- Swiss ice hockey executive, coach and former professional ice hockey centre. He was granted Swiss citizenship in 2002. He became sport director at Swiss side Lausanne HC in 2011. Playing career A native of Granby, Alston skated at the QMAAA and QMJHL level in his home province of Quebec and then spent his entire pro career in Europe, suiting up in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. Dale B. McTavish (born February 28, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played nine games in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames in 1996–97, recording one goal and two assists. Playing career McTavish was born in Eganville, Ontario. He played four seasons of junior hockey with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League. He helped lead the Petes to the league championship in 1992–93, and a Memorial Cup berth. Oleg Viktorovich Petrov (''Олег Викторович Петров''; born April 18, 1971) is a Russian former ice hockey right winger. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1992 and 2003. Professional career Petrov was drafted 127th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft and became the first Russian to play for the team. He played in 382 career NHL games, scoring 72 goals and 115 assists for 187 points. The most goals he ever scored in a single season in the NHL was 24 and the most points he ever achieved was 47. Joseph Eric Thornton (born July 2, 1979) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He has previously played for the Boston Bruins, San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers are a professional ice hockey club from Rapperswil, Switzerland and are members of the National League. History The Lakers were founded in 1945 and were known as SC Rapperswil-Jona until 2005, when the club changed its name to Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and then again changed their name to SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in 2015.
