2004–05 Huddersfield Town A.F.C. Season
Huddersfield Town's 2004–05 campaign was their first competitive campaign in the restructured Coca-Cola League One. They finished 9th with 70 points, just one point less than Hartlepool United in 6th, the lowest playoff position. Squad at the start of the season Review Town beat Stockport County on the opening day, but then failed to score in their next 4 games, including a 1–0 defeat to Leeds United in the first round of the League Cup at Elland Road. The season included victories away at eventual champions Luton Town and at home over runners-up Hull City but also included two derby defeats against Bradford City. However, a disastrous mid-season spell of form (including seven successive away league defeats and having Efe Sodje stripped of the captaincy after his red card against Blackpool in the Football League Trophy) saw the side slump and in real danger of a relegation battle. Huddersfield Town A
Huddersfield is a market town in the Kirklees district in West Yorkshire, England. It is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Kirklees district. The town is in the foothills of the Pennines. The River Holme's confluence into the similar-sized Colne to the south of the town centre which then flows into the Calder in the north eastern outskirts of the town. The rivers around the town provided soft water required for textile treatment in large weaving sheds, this made it a prominent mill town with an economic boom in the early part of the Victorian era Industrial Revolution. The town centre has much neoclassical Victorian architecture, one example is which is a Grade I listed building – described by John Betjeman as "the most splendid station façade in England" – and won the Europa Nostra award for architecture. Rob Edwards (footballer, Born 1970)
Robert Edwards (born 23 February 1970) is a former professional footballer, who started out as a forward and changed to a defender or midfielder. He played in the Football League for Crewe Alexandra, Huddersfield Town and Chesterfield before retiring and starting his own joiner business in 2006. Danny Schofield
Daniel James Schofield (born 10 April 1980) is an English former footballer and manager who is currently head coach of EFL League Two club Doncaster Rovers. Playing career Huddersfield Town Schofield was signed by Huddersfield Town from Brodsworth Welfare for a fee of £2,000 in 1998. Although Schofield made his debut in the 1998–99 season against Crewe Alexandra, his first full season in the team came in the 2001–02 season when he found the net 11 times operating as a striker, since then he had been playing as an attacking right sided midfielder until was moved to the left side of midfield. Junior Mendes
Albert Junior Hillyard Andrew Mendes (born 15 September 1976) is an English-born Montserratian former professional footballer and sports scientist who works a fitness coach for Scottish Premiership side St. Mirren. As a player he was a striker from 1995 to 2015. Mendes began his career with Premier League side Chelsea in 1995, but was released at the 95–96 season. Tony Carss
Anthony John Carss (born 31 March 1976) is an English football coach and former professional player, who currently works for Aston Villa Academy as Emerging Talent Programme Manager. Carss started his career with Blackburn Rovers, and went on to Darlington, Cardiff City, Chesterfield, Oldham Athletic and Huddersfield Town. After retiring from playing in 2006, Carss has also coached at Huddersfield Town Academy and Blackburn Rovers F.C. Academy. Chris Brandon
Christopher William Brandon (born 7 April 1976) is an English professional footballer who last played in Thailand for BEC Tero Sasana. He is a midfielder who has played more than 300 games during his professional career, which did not start until he was aged 23. After he was released by Bradford City's youth academy as a youngster he followed a non-league career with Bradford Park Avenue, Farsley Celtic and Stafford Rangers. He became a professional in 1999 with Division Three side Torquay United. Nathan Clarke (born 30 November 1983) is an English former footballer professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Steve Yates (footballer, Born 1970)
Stephen Yates (born 29 January 1970) is an English football coach and former professional footballer. As a player who played as a defender, who notably played in the Premier League for Queens Park Rangers, as well as in the English Football League for Bristol Rovers, Tranmere Rovers, Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town and Morecambe. He also played non-league football for Scarborough and Halifax Town before retiring with Welsh Premier League club Caernarfon Town. Lee Anthony Fowler (born 10 June 1983) is a Welsh retired professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He earned 12 Wales Under-21 caps. Anthony Francis Lloyd (born 14 March 1984) is an English footballer who plays for North Ferriby United as a defender. He played over 60 games in the Football League for Huddersfield Town and Torquay United as well over 40 games for York City in the Conference Premier. Andrew Holdsworth, (born 29 January 1984) is an English retired professional footballer who last played for Guiseley. He has previously played for Huddersfield Town, Oldham Athletic and Morecambe.
