2004–05 Croatian Ice Hockey League Season
The Croatian Hockey League Season for 2004–2005 ended in a similar manner to the previous one, with KHL Medveščak winning the title for the ninth time in a row. The team went undefeated in both the regular season and the playoffs. In the finals their opponent was KHL Mladost, as opposed to their old rivals KHL Zagreb. Regular season The season officially started with six teams, but due to mostly financial reasons, HK INA Sisak didn't participate. For the same reasons, HASK Zagreb played only two games in the first part of the regular season so the season continued, and finished, with only four teams. History The league was formed in 1991 with the dissolution of Yugoslavia. Until then, Croatian teams played in the Yugoslav Ice Hockey League. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. KHL Medveščak Zagreb
KHL Medveščak Zagreb ( hr, Klub hokeja na ledu Medveščak Zagreb), also known as KHL Medveščak Mladi, is a Croatian ice hockey club based in Zagreb, established in 1961. The team's name derives from the location of its original arena in the Medveščak area in central Zagreb, with KHL the abbreviation of the Croatian words for "ice hockey club." It is by far the most successful and popular ice hockey team in the country. From 1961 to 1991 the club was member of the Yugoslav League, before joining the Croatian League amid the breakup of Yugoslavia. In 2007 they also played in the Slovenian League for two seasons, and then the Austrian League from 2009 to 2013. HK INA Sisak
KHL Sisak is a Croatian professional ice hockey team that plays in the Croatian Ice Hockey League and the IHL. They play their home games at Ledena dvorana Zibel, which was renovated in 2018. History The first hockey game was played in Sisak in 1930. It was played between the students of the 7'th High School. Over the years they played partial and irregular matches, mostly between students. Then, at the end 1934 the sports society "Slavia" organized a hockey club. The new Sisak club had its first success at the championship of Yugoslavia in 1937. The players were: Vjenceslav Holubek, Vladimir Berghauer, Želimir Golder, Josip Kovačić, Mate Starčević, Oliver Pötzl, Franjo Knebl, Branko Herlinger and Joža Stampf. KHL Medveščak Zagreb II
KHL Medveščak Zagreb II, also known as KHL Medveščak Mladi Juniors, is a Croatian ice hockey team founded as the farm team of KHL Medveščak Zagreb. They play in the Croatian Junior Ice Hockey League. Before they were senior champions in 2010, 2013, and 2014. They have also played in both the Panonian League and the Slohokej League. History Medveščak Zagreb II played in the 2003–04 Panonian League. At the end of the regular season they finished sixth out six teams and they failed to qualify for the play-offs. They made their debut in the Croatian Ice Hockey League in 2004–05, helping to make up the numbers in a depleted four-team league. During the 2009–10 season they played in both the Slohokej Liga and the CIHL, winning the latter title. In sports, a farm team, farm system, feeder team, feeder club, or nursery club is generally a team or club whose role is to provide experience and training for young players, with an agreement that any successful players can move on to a higher level at a given point, usually in an association with a major-level parent team.
