2004–05 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship
The 2004–05 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship was the 35th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1970-71. The championship began on 23 October 2004 and ended on 17 March 2004. Caltra were the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify after being beaten by Salthill-Knocknacarra in the quarter-final of the 2004 Galway County Championship. On 17 March 2005, Ballina Stephenites won the championship following a 1-12 to 2-08 defeat of Portlaoise in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. It remains their only championship title. Oisín McConville of Crossmaglen Rangers was the championship's top scorer with 3-20. Erin's Own GAA (Kilkenny)
Erin's Own Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in 1885 and since then has been the main sporting organization in the Castlecomer area in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Erin's Own fielded teams in 11 different grades of hurling and in 7 grades of gaelic football in 2006, and is currently undertaking major development at its new ground, Canon Kearns Park. With a membership of about 20 adults and about 100 youths the club is in the enviable position of having two properties, the first, The Prince Grounds, in the town, and the second, Canon Kearns Park, on the outskirts of the town, towards Kilkenny. Rathvilly Gaelic Athletic Association is a Gaelic football and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Rathvilly, County Carlow, Ireland. History The club was founded in 1888. The teacher Edward O'Toole was the first captain of the club; he was a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) and an early influence on Kevin Barry. Rathvilly won its first Carlow Junior Football Championship in 1916. Muckalee GAA
Muckalee GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Muckalee, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The club is solely concerned with the game of Gaelic football. It is a sister club of St. Martin's. History Located in the townland of Muckalee, on the Carlow-Kilkenny border, Muckalee United, as the club was then known, was founded in 1917. The club was just five years old when it contested the JFC final, losing out to Barrow Rovers on that occasion. Muckalee made a breakthrough by winning the Northern JFC title in 1947, a win which was later converted into a Kilkenny JFC title. Further junior honours were claimed in 1953, 1966 and 1973. After promotion to the senior ranks, Muckalee claimed their first Kilkenny SFC title in 1968. It was the first of five titles, the last of which was claimed in 1990. Parnell Park is a GAA stadium in Donnycarney, Dublin, Ireland with a capacity of 8,500. It is the home of the Dublin GAA hurling, football, camogie and ladies' football teams at all levels of competition. St Patrick's GAA Club Wicklow Town is a Gaelic Athletic Association club with teams competing in Hurling, Gaelic Football, and Ladies Football in Wicklow League and Championship competitions. Kilmacud Crokes GAA
Kilmacud Crokes ( ir, Cill Mochuda Na Crócaigh) is a large Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stillorgan, Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Background Kilmacud GAA club was formed in 1959 following a historic public meeting in Saint Laurence's Hall, where Stillorgan shopping centre now stands. The first meeting of the club took place on 12 March 1959. Sixty people attended the meeting and donated a shilling each, meaning the club made IR£3.30 on the night. The club decided to use green-and-white jerseys, but they later decided to use the gold-and-purple colours, some say because of the local school Scoil Lorcain Naofa who also use gold and purple, others say it was because blue are the colours of the crocus. In 1963 the club purchased a -acre site behind the Ormonde Cinema as a permanent home pitch for themselves, Páirc de Burca, and in 1965 the adjoining Glenalbyn House was bought. Leinster Senior Club Football Championship
The Leinster Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament played on a knockout basis between the senior club championship winners of the competing counties in Leinster. The current holders of the Leinster title are Ballyboden St. Enda's from Dublin. Offaly side Gracefield were the first winners of the Leinster senior club football championship in the 1970–71 season. The most successful clubs are St. Vincent's from Dublin and Portlaoise from Laois, who have won the Leinster championship on seven occasions. Carlow club Éire Óg won 5 championships in 7 years in the 1990s. Dublin clubs have won the Leinster championship twenty one times, which is more than double any other county. Tuam Stadium
St Jarlath's Park (''Páirc Naomh Iarflaith'', commonly known as Tuam Stadium) is a GAA stadium in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland. It is one of the principal stadiums of Galway GAA's football teams. The ground once had a capacity of around 26,000. This has progressively been reduced for safety reasons and has most recently been reduced to 6,700. The official opening of the stadium took place on 21 May 1950. It was blessed and officially opened by the Archbishop of Tuam, Rev. Dr Walsh.
