2004 U.S. Figure Skating Championships
The 2004 U.S. Figure Skating Championships took place on January 3–11, 2004 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Medals were awarded in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth) in four disciplines – men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing – across three levels: senior, junior, and novice. Matthew Savoie (figure Skater)
Matthew Savoie (born September 12, 1980, in Peoria, Illinois), is an American former competitive figure skater. He is a three-time U.S. bronze medalist, the 2006 Four Continents bronze medalist, and competed at the 2006 Olympics. Skating career Matthew Savoie first gained prominence when he won the gold medal on the junior level at the 1997 U.S. Championships. He went on to place in the top five at every U.S. Nationals between 1999 and 2006, winning bronze medals in 2001, 2004, and 2006 and pewter medals (fourth place) in 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2005. Savoie won bronze medals at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, the Grand Prix Final, and the World Junior Championships. He represented the United States three times at the World Championships. Rohene Ward
Rohene Andre Ward (born June 28, 1983) is a retired American figure skater and choreographer. He competed four times at the U.S. Championships, in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008. He also competed for Puerto Rico and is the 2004 Puerto Rican national champion. Career Ward is known for his flexibility, athleticism, and charisma, as well as jumping and spinning in both directions. His moves include the cantilever, the hydroblade, and the splits. Ward was coached by Page Lipe in Minneapolis for 18 years. He attended North Community High School where he graduated in 2001. In 2005, he began training under coach Robin Wagner. Jordan Brauninger (born January 19, 1987) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2004 World Junior bronze medalist. Career Brauninger began skating at age five. He played ice hockey for three years and switched to figure skating after meeting Sergei Grinkov. He competed first as a pair skater with Samantha Skavdahl. He is the 1998 World Junior champion, the 2000 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, 2000 Karl Schäfer Memorial bronze medalist, and 1999 U.S. National Collegiate champion.
