2004 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships
The 13th IAAF World Half Marathon Championships was held on 3 October 2004 in New Delhi, India. A total of 152 athletes, 91 men and 61 women, from 55 countries took part. Detailed reports on the event and an appraisal of the results were given both for the men's race and for the women's race. Complete results were published for the men's race, for the women's race, for men's team, and for women's team. The competition also incorporated the 1st Asian Half Marathon Championships. IAAF
World Athletics, formerly known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (from 1912 to 2001) and International Association of Athletics Federations (from 2001 to 2019, both abbreviated as the IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, race walking, mountain running, and ultra running. Wilson Kipkemei Busienei (born 18 August 1981 in Nakasongola) is a Ugandan long-distance runner. He is best known for winning three gold medals at the 2005 Summer Universiade. He has represented his country at the World Championship level in cross country running and road running and on the track. He took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing eleventh in the 10,000 metres. Busienei has also competed at the Commonwealth Games, having taken fifth in the 10,000 m in 2006.
