2004 Houston Texans Season
The 2004 season was the Houston Texans' third in the National Football League, all of which they had spent under head coach Dom Capers. The team finished 7–9, two games better than the previous season, and came third in the AFC South, the first time they had not finished bottom. The Texans also earned their first victory over the Tennessee Titans, the franchise previously known as the Oilers, who had left Houston after the 1996 season. Quarterback David Carr, who missed four games the previous season, started all 16 games in 2004. Carr finished 2004 as his best season with Houston, finishing 285-of-466 for 3,531 yards with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Carr's 466 attempts, 3,531 passing yards, and 16 passing touchdowns would all be career highs for him. Additionally, this was the first season Carr finished with more touchdowns than interceptions. AFC South
The American Football Conference – Southern Division or AFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 NFL season, 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. Western Michigan Broncos Football
The Western Michigan Broncos football program represents Western Michigan University in the Football Bowl Subdivision of Division I and the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Western Michigan has competed in football since 1906, when they played three games in their inaugural season. In 1927, WMU joined four other schools ( Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Ferris State University, and Wayne State University) to form the Michigan Collegiate Conference. Western Michigan then moved to its present conference in 1948. Prior to 1939, Western Michigan's athletic teams were known as the Hilltoppers. WMU's main rival is the Central Michigan University Chippewas and they play for the Victory Cannon. As of 2022, the Broncos own a 52–39–2 advantage in the series. Raheem Orr
Raheem Orr (born August 21, 1986) is a former American football and arena football defensive end as well as a fullback in the Arena Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL) for parts of 5 seasons. He played High School Football at Yazoo City High School, and was recognized as an All-Conference player in 2004. After being drafted by the Houston Texans, Orr was released and ultimately signed with the New York Giants. Raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Orr graduated from Elizabeth High School. He had a son on February 1, 2006 with his partner, Khargan Makorney (b. 1988). They were never married. After a year off of football, Orr began playing for the Philadelphia Soul in 2006. The Ole Miss Rebels football program represents the University of Mississippi, also known as "Ole Miss". Charlie Anderson
Charlie Alexander Anderson (born December 8, 1981) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Mississippi. Early years Anderson attended and played high school football at Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi. As a senior tight end and defensive end, his team made it to the 5-A state finals. He also lettered in track and soccer. Jammal Alberto Lord (born January 10, 1981) is a former American football quarterback that started for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was selected with the tenth pick of the sixth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans to play safety. He finished his pro football career playing at wide receiver and cornerback for the Indoor Football League's Abilene Ruff Riders in 2007. Vontez Douglas Duff (born March 8, 1982) is a former National Football League (NFL) cornerback. Born and raised in Copperas Cove, Texas, Duff attended Copperas Cove High School, where he was a standout running back.
