Deutschland Tour
The Deutschland Tour (English: ''Tour of Germany'' and sometimes ''Deutschland-Rundfahrt'' in German) is the most important multi-stage road bicycle race in Germany. Initially the race was held in May/June, but from 2005 until 2008 it was moved to August as part of the UCI ProTour. On October 16, 2008 the organizers announced that the 2009 edition would be cancelled, following the doping cases that were revealed in the sport of cycling. Marketing chiefs said they were unable to finance the nine-day race due to a lack of interested sponsors after the latest revelations of cyclists testing positive for the blood-booster CERA. A revival for 2017 was announced on 8 March 2016. In 2018, the A.S.O. revived the Deutschland Tour and included a 4-stage-race into a cycling festival. Michael Rich (cyclist)
Michael Rich (born 23 September 1969) is a former professional road bicycle racer, who won the gold medal for his native country in the men's team time trial (100 km) at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. His winning teammates were Christian Meyer, Bernd Dittert and Uwe Peschel. Rich is most famous for his individual time trial participations in the Grand Tours (Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España). He is the father of two children. Rich retired from racing in 2006. His profession was a mechanic. Sebastian Siedler
Sebastian Siedler (born 18 January 1978 in Leipzig) is a former racing cyclist from Germany, who last rode for UCI Continental team . He had a successful track career prior to turning to road bicycle racing, winning Team Pursuit at the 2000 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Manchester. He turned professional in 2004 with Team Wiesenhof, and spent two seasons there before moving to Team Milram for two seasons. Siedler joined at the start of the 2009 season. He rode in the 2006 Vuelta a España, finishing 127th overall. Sébastien Hinault (born 11 February 1974) is a French former professional road racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 1997 and 2014, competing in seventeen Grand Tour (cycling), Grand Tours. Pieter Weening (born 5 April 1981) is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally for the (2004–2011), (2012–2015), (2016–2019), and (2020) teams. Career Weening was born in Harkema, Friesland. 2005 In 2005 Weening won a stage in the Tour de France. After one of the closest finishes in the Tour ever, Weening won the eighth stage just ahead of Andreas Klöden. Danilo Hondo (born 4 January 1974) is a German former professional road bicycle racer. He won the German National Road Race in 2002. He competed in the men's team pursuit at the 1996 Summer Olympics. He was banned from professional cycling and then later won his appeal to return to the sport. From January 2015 to May 2019, Hondo worked as a coach for the Swiss cycling federation, first for the under-23 squad and then with the elite. He owns a bike shop on the island of Majorca. Allan Howard Davis (born 27 July 1980) is an Australian former professional road racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI ProTour team . Born in Ipswich, Queensland, Davis resides in Bundaberg, Queensland and in Spain. Known for his sprinting ability, he started competitive cycling at the age of 10, and turned professional in 2002. He is also the brother of fellow cyclist, Scott Davis, and was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. Uwe Peschel (born 4 November 1968) is a former German professional road bicycle racer and a time trialist. Peschel was born in Berlin in 1968. His father, Axel Peschel, had represented East Germany at the 1968 Olympic men's team time trial a fortnight prior to his birth.
