2004 Alamo Bowl
The 2004 Alamo Bowl featured the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State got on the board first, when quarterback Justin Zwick connected with wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez for a 23-yard touchdown pass, and a 7–0 lead. Mike Nugent connected on field goals of 37 and 35 yards in the first quarter as well, as Ohio State built a 13–0 lead over Oklahoma State. In the second quarter, running back Lydell Ross rushed for a 1-yard touchdown and a 20–0 lead. He finished the game with 12 carries for 99 yards. Nugent connected on his third field goal of the game, this one from 41 yards out, as Ohio State increased its lead to 23–0, before halftime. In the third quarter, Ted Ginn Jr. rushed five yards for a touchdown, increasing Ohio State's lead to 30–0. Big 12 Conference
The Big 12 Conference is a college athletic conference headquartered in Irving, Texas, USA. It consists of ten full-member universities. It is a member of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for all sports. Its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS; formerly Division I-A), the higher of two levels of NCAA Division I football competition. Anthony Gonzalez (politician)
Anthony E. Gonzalez (born September 18, 1984) is an American politician and former professional football player. He served as the U.S. representative for from 2019 to 2023. He played college football at Ohio State University, where he studied philosophy. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts with the final pick in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Following his sports career, which was cut short by injuries, he enrolled in graduate studies at Stanford University and earned a master's degree. The Alamo Bowl is an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision college football bowl game played annually since 1993 in the Alamodome in San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas. Since 2010 it matches the second choice team from the Pac-12 Conference and the second choice team from the Big 12 Conference. The 2004–05 NCAA football bowl games were a series of 32 post-season games (including the Bowl Championship Series) played in December 2004 and January 2005 for Division I-A football teams and their all-stars. The post-season began with the New Orleans Bowl on December 14, 2004, and concluded on January 29, 2005, with the season-ending Senior Bowl. A total of 28 team-competitive games, and five all-star games, were played. 2021 Oklahoma State Cowboys Football Team
The 2021 Oklahoma State Cowboys football team represented Oklahoma State University during the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cowboys played their home games at the Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and competed in the Big 12 Conference. The team was led by seventeen-year head coach Mike Gundy. Mike Gundy
Michael Ray Gundy (born August 12, 1967) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Oklahoma State University. Gundy played college football at Oklahoma State, where he played quarterback from 1986 to 1989. He became Oklahoma State's coach on January 3, 2005. Gundy and the University of Utah’s Kyle Whittingham are currently the second-longest tenured FBS coaches with one school, trailing only Kirk Ferentz.
