From 1956 to 1986, the " Big Three" national commercial networks were ABC, CBS, and NBC (with a few limited attempts to challenge them, such as National Telefilm Associates nd its NTA Film Network">NTA_Film_Network.html" ;"title="nd its NTA Film Network">nd its NTA Film Networkand the Overmyer Network). CBS Sunday Movie
The ''CBS Sunday Movie'' (also known at various times as the ''CBS Sunday Night Movie'') is the umbrella title for a made-for-TV and feature film showcase series carried by CBS until the end of the 2005–2006 television season, when it was replaced with drama series. It was the last of the weekly Sunday night movie showcases aired by the Big Three television networks to be canceled, outside of special event premieres and the network's previous run of the ''Hallmark Hall of Fame'' film anthology. On April 7, 2020, as part of schedule changes associated with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on television in the United States, CBS announced that it would air feature films under the ''CBS Sunday Night Movies'' banner for a five-week event in May 2020, featuring films from corporate sister Paramount Pictures. A sixth week was added to the event to fill the timeslot of the postponed 74th Tony Awards, featuring a sing-along version of '' Grease''. In September 2020, CBS announced t ...

The Casino (TV Series)
''The Casino'' is an American reality television series broadcast on the Fox network in 2004 which followed two dot-com millionaires, Thomas Breitling and Tim Poster, as they manage the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, located in downtown Las Vegas instead of the more popular Las Vegas Strip. The show was created by Mark Burnett, the creator of '' Survivor''. It was canceled shortly before the last three episodes of the series could be broadcast due to dismal ratings. However, sister station Fox Reality Channel picked up ''The Casino'' and broadcast the unaired episodes and then ran the series in re-runs until its cancellation from that network. Production Scenes of Tim Poster and Thomas Breitling were filmed around Las Vegas in January 2004. Filming at the Golden Nugget was initially scheduled to begin that same month, but was delayed and began instead on February 2, 2004. Casinos such as the Aladdin Resort & Casino and Caesars Palace were initially considered rather than ...

The house is a typical three-bedroom family home. The three male siblings share a room with bunk beds, the two females share another room. The kitchen contains a double-wide beer cooler as a refrigerator, and the basement contains a walk-in freezer, both to store the large amounts of food such a large family requires. Arrested Development (TV Series)
The term "arrested development" has had multiple meanings for over 200 years. In the field of medicine, the term "arrested development" was first used, ''circa'' 1835–1836, to mean a stoppage of physical development; the term continues to be used in the same way. In literature, Ernest Hemingway used the term in ''The Sun Also Rises'', published in 1926: On page 51, Harvey tells Cohn, "I misjudged you ..You're not a moron. You're only a case of arrested development." In contrast, the UK's Mental Health Act 1983 used the term "arrested development" to characterize a form of mental disorder comprising severe mental impairment, resulting in a lack of intelligence. However, some researchers have objected to the notion that mental development can be "arrested" or stopped, preferring to consider mental status as developing in other ways in psychological terminology. Consequently, the term "arrested development" is no longer used when referring to a developmental disorder in mental he ...

The series featured Bernie Mac and his wife Wanda raising his sister's three kids: Jordan, Vanessa, and Bryana. Premise The series was loosely based on Mac's stand-up comedy acts. In real life, Bernie "Mac" McCullough was married with one daughter; Mac's character on the show (a stand-up comedian) was married with no children of his own. The pilot episode, aired on November 14, 2001, set up the basic premise for the series: the character Bernie Mac takes in his sister's children after she enters rehab (a fictional premise taken from one of Mac's stand-up routines which was eventually featured in the 2000 film, ''The Original Kings of Comedy''). "In reality, the story is a blend of two real incidents: Mac briefly took in his niece Toya who was an at risk youth and he ...

The Simpsons
''The Simpsons'' is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of American life, epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture and society, television, and the human condition. The family was conceived by Groening shortly before a solicitation for a series of animated shorts with producer James L. Brooks. He created a dysfunctional family and named the characters after his own family members, substituting Bart for his own name; he thought Simpson was a funny name in that it sounded similar to " simpleton". The shorts became a part of '' The Tracey Ullman Show'' on April 19, 1987. After three seasons, the sketch was developed into a half-hour prime time show and became Fox's first series to land in the Top 30 ratings in a season (1989–1990). Since its debut on Dece ...
