The 2003 U-18 Junior World Cup was an under-18 international ice hockey tournament held in Břeclav, Czech Republic and Piešťany, Slovakia from August 11–16, 2003. Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament
The Hlinka Gretzky Cup is an annual international under-18 ice hockey tournament administered by Hockey Canada, the Czech Ice Hockey Association, and the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation. Held since 1991, it has been contested under various titles and in various countries, including Japan, Mexico, and Canada. From 1997 through 2017, hosting duties for the event alternated between, and were later split between, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. During this period, the event was known as the Nations Cup, the U-18 Junior World Cup, and Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. From 2018 through 2023, the tournament will alternate between Edmonton/Red Deer, Alberta and Břeclav, Czech Republic/ Piešťany, Slovakia. 2003 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2003 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred as the 2003 World Junior Hockey Championships (''2003 WJHC''), was the 27th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. The tournament was held in Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, from December 26, 2002 to January 5, 2003. Russia won the gold medal for the second consecutive year with a 3–2 victory over Canada in the championship game, while Finland won the bronze medal with a 3–2 victory over the United States. 1992 Pacific Cup (ice Hockey)
The 1992 Pacific Cup was the second annual under-18 ice hockey tournament, now known as the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, held in Tokyo, Japan from August 1–4, 1992. Canada captured their first gold medal after having finished as runners-up to the Soviet Union the previous year. They went undefeated in all three games of the tournament and defeated Russia 5–3 in the final and deciding game. Russia finished with the silver, Japan earned the bronze, while the United States, winless during the tournament, rounded out the four teams. 2003 IIHF World U18 Championships
The 2003 IIHF World U18 Championships were held in Yaroslavl, Russia. The championships began on April 8, 2003 and finished on April 18, 2003. Games were played at Arena 2000 and Avtodizel Arena in Yaroslavl. Canada defeated Slovakia 3-0 in the final to claim the gold medal, while Russia defeated the United States 6-3 to capture the bronze medal.
