2003 Rice Owls Baseball Team
The 2003 Rice Owls baseball team represented Rice University in the 2003 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Owls played their home games at Reckling Park. The team was coached by Wayne Graham in his 12th season at Rice. The Owls won 30 consecutive games to open the season 33-1 and won the Western Athletic Conference championship. Rice went on to win the College World Series, defeating the Stanford Cardinal in the championship series. It was the first national title that Rice had ever won in a team sport in the school's 91-year history. Vincent Sinisi
Vincent James Sinisi (born November 7, 1981) is an Italian-American former baseball player who played internationally for the Italy national baseball team in 2006. Biography A native of Houston, Texas, Sinisi attended The Woodlands High School and Rice University, where he played college baseball for the Rice Owls. In 2002, Sinisi was named the Western Athletic Conference's baseball player of the year. That year, he also played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Texas Rangers selected Sinisi in the second round of the 2003 MLB draft. Excite Ballpark, previously known as San Jose Municipal Stadium or Muni Stadium, is a baseball park in San Jose, California. Vincent–Beck Stadium
Vincent–Beck Stadium (formerly Cardinal Field) is a ballpark located in Beaumont, Texas, on Jim Gilligan Way on the campus of Lamar University. The stadium was built in 1969 and has a current capacity of 3,500 spectators. It is the home stadium of the Lamar Cardinals baseball team. It was also home to the Beaumont Golden Gators, a minor league Double-A (baseball), Double-A Texas League affiliate of the San Diego Padres (1983–1986) as well as the Beaumont Bullfrogs of the Central Baseball League (1994). Don Sanders Stadium, nicknamed "The Don", is located in Huntsville, TX and home to the Sam Houston State Bearkats baseball team. It opened on February 11, 2006. Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium, formerly Varsity Park, is a baseball stadium on the campus of the California State University, Fresno in Fresno, California, United States. The 2003 Texas Longhorns baseball team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2003 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Longhorns played their home games at Disch–Falk Field. Bobcat Baseball Stadium
Bobcat Ballpark is a baseball venue in San Marcos, Texas, on the campus of Texas State University. It is home of the Texas State Bobcats baseball team of the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference. It currently holds 2,400 spectators. In 2008, the baseball and softball stadiums were renovated and expanded to its current design. In addition, four luxury suites for up to 12 people were added. The renovations made their debut on March 5, 2009 against the Texas Longhorns with a record setting 2,593 people. Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park (formerly known as Cougar Field) is a baseball park in Houston, Texas. It is the home field of the Houston Cougars baseball team.
