2003 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship
The 2003 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship was the 19th annual tournament to determine the national champions of NCAA Division II men's college lacrosse in the United States. The final was played at M&T Bank Stadium, the home stadium of the NFL Baltimore Ravens, in Baltimore, Maryland. In a tradition that remains, this was the first tournament final held in the same venue as the concurrent Division I and Division III NCAA men's lacrosse tournaments. In a rematch of the previous year's final, NYIT defeated defending champions Limestone in the championship game, 9–4, to claim the Bears' second Division II national title. NCAA Division II
NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III. Before 1973, the NCAA's smaller schools were grouped together in the College Division. In 1973, the College Division split in two when the NCAA began using numeric designations for its competitions. 2003 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship
The 2003 NCAA Division I lacrosse tournament was the 33rd annual tournament hosted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the team champion of men's college lacrosse among its Division I programs, held at the end of the 2003 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse season. Virginia won the championship with a 9–7 win over top-ranked Johns Hopkins. The Cavaliers, led by A.J. Shannon, Chris Rotelli and Matt Ward, won their third NCAA championship. Virginia was able to hang to an 8–5 lead to close out the 3rd quarter. Rotelli led all scorers with one goal and four assists in the finals for the Cavaliers, while Kyle Barrie led Johns Hopkins with one goal and one assist. Le Moyne Dolphins Men's Lacrosse
The Le Moyne Dolphins are the athletic teams that represent Le Moyne College, located in Syracuse, New York, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sporting competitions. The Dolphins compete as members of Northeast-10 Conference. Le Moyne has been a member of the NE-10 since 1996. NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship
The NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship is the annual championship in men's lacrosse held by the NCAA for teams competing in Division III. After the inauguration of the NCAA Division I championship in 1971, the USILA added a "small college" tournament for two years for all non-Division I schools. Hobart defeated Washington College 15-12 to win the 1972 USILA title. And Cortland State beat Washington College to win the 1973 title, 13-8. The NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament determines the annual top men's field lacrosse team in the NCAA Division I. This tournament has determined the national champion since the inaugural 1971 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship.
