List Of NASCAR Xfinity Series Champions
The NASCAR Xfinity Series Drivers' Championship is awarded by the chairman in NASCAR to the most successful Xfinity Series racing car driver over a season, as determined by a points system based on race results. The Drivers' Championship was first awarded in 1982, to Jack Ingram. The first driver to win multiple Championships was Sam Ard in 1983 and 1984. The current Drivers' Champion is Daniel Hemric who won his first NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 2021. As of the 2016 season, the Championship has been decided using NASCAR's “Playoff” system. 12 drivers qualify for the Playoffs; race winners are automatically locked in and the remainder is set by the highest non-winners in the points standings. Justin Ashburn
Justin Ashburn (born December 23, 1981) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competed in both the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the ARCA Re/Max Series from 2002 to 2009, driving for the Day Enterprise Racing team in nearly all of his starts in both series. Racing career In 1997, Ashburn won the ''Rookie of the Year'' award at Highland Rim Speedway and finished fifth in points in the pro-modified series. Two years later, he won the ''Most Improved Driver'' award after winning ten races and finishing fourth in points. Gus Wasson
Gus Wasson (born March 28, 1974) is an American former stock car racing driver. Gus is the son of Paul and Kathy Wasson. He competed part-time in NASCAR's Busch Series from 1998–2004. Busch Series Career Wasson made his Busch Series debut in 1998, making a one-off start at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the #49 Hoiles Motorsports Chevy. Wasson qualified 17th and despite spinning out early on the 73rd lap, he stayed in that vicinity for the entire race, and he ended the race with an 18th-place finish. Wasson qualified for five races in 1999. Running the #49 car again, Wasson went out again at Atlanta and did in his season debut as he had in his series debut: finish a solid 18th. Jay Sommers (racing Driver)
Jay Sommers (born October 15, 1967) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competed in the ARCA Permatex SuperCar Series in the late 1980s. After winning the Michigan Lottery in 1988, he used his earnings to bankroll racing endeavors in NASCAR. Sommers eventually raced in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and NASCAR Busch Series. He last raced in the Champion Racing Association's JEGS All-Stars Tour. Jason Alan White (born June 5, 1979) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 1 Toyota Tundra for TRICON Garage. Racing career Early career White began racing go-karts when he was eleven, and has been racing part-time since. Before moving to Busch Series, White dominated the Virginia go-kart circuit. Clay Morgan Shepherd (born October 12, 1941) is an American retired professional stock car racing driver and current team owner. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 89 Chevrolet Camaro for Shepherd Racing Ventures. Jeffrey Streeter (born November 25, 1979) is an American former stock car racing driver. He was a part-time NASCAR Busch Series driver in 2001 and 2003. Racing career ARCA Racing Series Streeter made his debut in the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series in 1997 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, starting 11th and finishing 15th in a family-owned car. Blake is a surname which originated from Old English.
