2003 European Amateur Team Championship
The 2005 European Amateur Team Championship took place 1–5 July at Royal The Hague Golf & Country Club in Wassenaar, Netherlands. It was the 23rd men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The course at Royal The Hague Golf & Country Club, situated in an undulating dune landscape in Wassenaar, 10 kilometres north of the city center of The Hague, was designed in 1938, by Harry Colt and C.H. Alison. The championship course was set up with par 72. Format Each team consisted of 6 players, playing two rounds of stroke-play over two days, counting the five best scores each day for each team. The eight best teams formed flight A, in knock-out match-play over the next three days. The teams were seeded based on their positions after the stroke play. The first placed team were drawn to play the quarter final against the eight placed team, the second against the seventh, the third against the sixth and the fourth against the fifth. Anders Schmidt Hansen
Anders Schmidt Hansen (born 31 January 1978) is a Danish professional golfer. Hansen won his national open in 1999 as an amateur, before turning professional in 2003 at the age of 25. At the end of that year he reached the final stage of the European Tour's Qualifying School, entitling him to play on the second-tier Challenge Tour in 2004. He played thirteen Challenge Tour events in 2004, but recorded only one top-10 finish and ended 108th on the money list. However, this still gained him entry to most Tour events in 2005, and he enjoyed a far more successful year, with a runners-up place at the Galeria Kaufhof Pokal Challenge, and finishing 42nd on the money list. Adrien Mörk
Adrien Mörk (born 19 September 1979) is a French professional golfer. In 2006 he recorded the first ever sub 60 round on any tour run by the PGA European Tour. Career Mörk was born in Montbéliard. He attended McNeese State University in the United States. He has been a professional since 2004 and, after finding success on the third tier Alps Tour, was a Challenge Tour rookie in 2006. On 26 May 2006, in the second round of the Tikida Hotels Agadir Moroccan Classic, Mörk shot the first 59 in the history of the Challenge Tour, European Tour or European Seniors Tour. This was his scorecard: He went on to win the tournament by one stroke. Jean-Baptiste Gonnet
Jean-Baptiste Gonnet (born 28 September 1982) is a French professional golfer. Gonnet was born in Cannes. He turned professional in 2004 and played on the Challenge Tour from 2004 to 2006. He finished 17th in the 2006 Order of Merit to earn a place on the European Tour for 2007. He competed on the European Tour until 2013. His best season was his debut year in 2007, when he finished 90th in the Order of Merit. Roope Kakko
Roope Kakko (born 13 February 1982) is a Finnish professional golfer. Kakko was born in Espoo, Finland. He started playing golf at the age of five. In 2004, Kakko became only the third amateur to win a tournament on the Challenge Tour, when he won his home event, the Volvo Finnish Open. The win earned him a Tour card for the following season, and having turned professional later in 2004, he joined the Challenge Tour full-time. He was a regular on the tour for the next five seasons, although he did not win again, with a best finish on the money list of 27th in 2008, when he was twice a runner-up. His strong 2008 season gained Kakko entry into a small number of European Tour events, and he capitalised on those opportunities by making successive top-10 finishes at the 2009 BMW Italian Open and 3 Irish Open. Gary Wolstenholme
Gary P. Wolstenholme MBE (born 21 August 1960) is an English professional golfer, known for his long amateur career, who now plays on the European Senior Tour. Wolstenholme was born in Egham, Surrey. His father was Guy Wolstenholme a professional golfer. He has won The Amateur Championship twice (1991, 2003) as well as many other amateur tournaments around the world. He has played on six Walker Cup teams and is the all-time points leader for the Great Britain and Ireland side. In September 2008, at the age of 48, Wolstenholme turned professional in anticipation of playing senior professional golf in 2010. He attempted to qualify for the European Tour through qualifying school, but failed to advance past the first stage. Oliver John Wilson (born 14 September 1980) is an English professional golfer. Wilson was a member of the 2008 Ryder Cup, but had to wait another six years for his first European Tour win, the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Amateur career Wilson was born in Mansfield, England, where his golfing career began at Coxmoor Golf Club, having been a junior at Oakmere Park Golf Club. Richard Finch (born 9 July 1977) is an English professional golfer. Finch is currently a member of the European Tour. He has been a member since 2005. Finch earned his card through Qualifying School in 2004. In his rookie season, he finished 60th on the Order of Merit, but missed out on the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award, which went to Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño of Spain.
