The 2003 Copa Libertadores Final was a two-legged football match-up to determine the 2003 Copa Libertadores champion. It was contested by Argentine club Boca Juniors and Brazilian club Santos. The 2003 Copa Libertadores de América (officially the 2003 Copa Toyota Libertadores de América for sponsorship reasons) was the 44th edition of the Copa Libertadores, CONMEBOL's premier annual international club tournament. The tournament was won by Boca Juniors after defeating Santos in a rematch of the 1963 Copa Libertadores Finals. Marcelo Delgado
Marcelo Alejandro Delgado (born 24 March 1973) is a retired Argentines, Argentine Association football, footballer, best known for his nickname "Chelo". He usually played as a deep-lying forward. He has been capped for Argentina national football team, Argentina and played at the 1996 Olympic Games and the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He is well known for his technical ability and finishing. Guillermo Barros Schelotto (; born 4 May 1973) is an Argentine football manager and former forward who currently manages the Paraguay national team. Barros Schelotto played 16 years of his professional career in the Argentine Primera División (6 with Gimnasia La Plata and 10 with Boca Juniors). With these two teams, he won a total 17 official titles (one with Gimnasia and 16 with Boca). In 2007, Barros Schelotto left Boca Juniors for Columbus Crew in the Major League Soccer, his first move outside his native country. An own goal, also called a self goal, is where a player performs actions that result in them or their team scoring a goal on themselves, often resulting in a point for the opposing team, such as when a football player kicks a ball into their own net or goal, awarding the other team a point. Sebastián Eguren Ledesma (born 8 January 1981) is a Uruguayan football manager and former player who played mainly as a defensive midfielder. Eguren started his career with Montevideo Wanderers in 1999, and went on to play professionally in Norway, Sweden, Spain, Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina before retiring in 2016. A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area. The shot is taken from the penalty mark, which is 11 m (12 yards) from the goal line and centred between the touch lines. Alex Rodrigo Dias da Costa (born 17 June 1982), known as Alex, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a centre-back.
