2002–03 Red Stripe Bowl
The 2002–03 Red Stripe Bowl was the 29th edition of what is now the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). It ran from 14 August to 1 September 2002, with matches played in Jamaica and Saint Lucia. Ten teams contested the competition, including several first-time participants. For a second consecutive season, the Leeward and Windward Islands teams were each broken up into two teams – Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines entered separate teams, with players from the remaining countries playing for "Rest of Leeward Islands" and "Rest of Windward Islands" teams. A University of the West Indies team entered for the first time, while Canada were invited as a guest team. West Indies Cricket Board
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the Board resolved to rename itself as Cricket West Indies as part of a restructuring exercise that would also see the creation of a separate commercial body. This rebranding formally occurred in May 2017. CWI has been a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1926. Ridley Jacobs
Ridley Detamore Jacobs (born 26 November 1967) is a former Antiguan cricketer, who played as a left-handed wicketkeeper batsman for the West Indian cricket team in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He was the first opening batsman to carry his bat in the history of Cricket World Cup and was the fourth batsman to do so in a One Day International. Jacobs also picked up 219 dismissals in tests along with 189 in ODIs, which is second only to Jeff Dujon, for the Windies in his international career. Adam Sanford (born 12 July 1975) is a former professional cricketer who played eleven Test matches for the West Indies between 2002 and 2004. He later qualified for the U.S. national team, playing three Twenty20 fixtures for them in 2013. With the exception of a single first-class match for the Windward Islands in 1997, Sanford's West Indian domestic cricket was played for the Leeward Islands: despite being born in Dominica - a member of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control -, he lived ten years and served as a policeman in Antigua and Barbuda, which also he represented once. Mali Alexander Richards (born 2 September 1983, Taunton, Somerset) is a West Indian cricketer who played first-class cricket for the Leeward Islands. Sylvester Cleofoster Joseph (born 5 September 1978) is a West Indian cricketer who has played in five Test matches and 13 One Day Internationals from 2000 to 2005. He captained the West Indies in one of those ODI games due to the more experienced players being unavailable courtesy of contract disputes. In West Indian domestic cricket he plays for the Leeward Islands. Joseph was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy. Against the West Indies B in the Busta Cup of 2001/02, Joseph converted his maiden first class ton for the Leeward Islands into a double century, finishing with 211 not out.
