The 2002–03 football season was Plymouth Argyle Football Club's 99th consecutive season as a professional club. It began on 1 July 2002, and concluded on 30 June 2003, although competitive games were only played between August and May. Season summary The club began the 2002–03 season in the Football League Second Division, following their promotion from the Third Division. They finished in a creditable 8th position, with a record of 17 wins, 14 draws, and 15 defeats, from 46 games. Their leading goalscorer was Marino Keith with 12 goals in all competitions. The club reached the Third Round of the FA Cup, drawing 2–2 at home with Dagenham & Redbridge before losing the replay 2–0. David Friio (born 17 February 1973) is a French former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He played in the Football League for Plymouth Argyle and Nottingham Forest, and Ligue 2 for Nîmes and Valence. He is now technical director at Marseille. Michael James "Mickey" Evans (born 1 January 1973) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. He spent most of his career with Plymouth Argyle, for whom he scored 73 goals in 384 appearances in the Football League. Craig Edward Disley (born 24 August 1981) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is assistant manager at Cleethorpes Town. Primarily a box-to-box central midfielder, he began his professional career at Mansfield Town in 1999 where he started as a youngster, and established himself in the "Stags" first team in the 2001–02 season, helping them gain promotion into the Second Division. Andy White (born 6 November 1981) is an English footballer. He is 6 foot 4 inches and weighs 14 stone. He played his first football at Hucknall Town, before being signed by Stuart Watkiss at Mansfield Town. He was loaned out to various clubs including Boston United, Crewe Alexandra, Kidderminster Harriers and Burton Albion. Nathan Peter Lowndes (born 2 June 1977) is an English former footballer who played as a forward. He began his career with Leeds United, but failed to break into the first before his move to Watford in 1995. After making little impact at Watford, he moved to Scotland to play for St Johnstone in 1998. Three years later he transferred to Livingston.
