2002–03 AFC Bournemouth Season
The 2002–03 AFC Bournemouth season was the club's first season in the English Third Division following relegation the previous year. During the 2002–03 English football season, Bournemouth participated in Division Three, the LDV Vans Trophy, the FA Cup, and the Football League Cup. Bournemouth finished 4th in Division Three and were subsequently promoted via the playoffs. They reached the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, and the Southern Section Semi Final of the LDV Vans Trophy, but were knocked of the League Cup at the first hurdle. AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth () is a professional association football club based in Kings Park, Boscombe, a suburb of Bournemouth, Dorset, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the highest division of English club football. Formed in 1899 as Boscombe, the club adopted their current name in 1971. Nicknamed "The Cherries", Bournemouth have played their home games at Dean Court since 1910. Their home colours are red and black striped shirts, with black shorts and socks, inspired by that of Italian club A.C. Milan. The club competed in regional football leagues before going up from the Hampshire League to the Southern League in 1920. Scott McDonald
Scott Douglas McDonald (born 21 August 1983) is an Australian former professional footballer and is the current head coach for National Premier Leagues club Gold Coast Knights. Originally a striker, McDonald could also play as an attacking midfielder. Born in Dandenong, McDonald commenced his senior footballing career with Gippsland Falcons in the National Soccer League before moving to Great Britain in 2001. He subsequently played for a wide range of clubs, including representing Southampton in the Premier League and Celtic and Motherwell in the Scottish top flight. Jason Tindall
Jason James Tindall (born 15 November 1977) is an English professional football manager and former player, who is currently the assistant manager of Newcastle United. A defender during his playing days, Tindall spent the bulk of his career with AFC Bournemouth, making more than 170 appearances for the club. He briefly managed Weymouth, before returning to Bournemouth as assistant manager. Working alongside manager and former teammate Eddie Howe, Tindall helped lead Bournemouth's rise from League Two to the Premier League which saw them win three promotions in six seasons. After Bournemouth were relegated from the Premier League in 2020, Howe left the club and Tindall was appointed manager. Alan Connell
Alan John Connell (born 5 February 1983) is an English former professional footballer and current youth team coach at AFC Bournemouth. As a player, he was a striker who played between 2001 and 2016. Connell came through the youth academy at Tottenham Hotspur but received his first professional contract from Ipswich Town, despite this he failed to make an appearance and joined AFC Bournemouth in 2002 where despite making over 50 league appearances he was largely used as a back-up striker. This prompted him to move to Torquay United in 2005 after three years with Bournemouth. A year later he moved on again to Hereford United before re-signing for Bournemouth in 2008. Narada Michael Bernard (born 30 November 1981 in Bristol) is a Jamaican-English former professional footballer, who played as a left-back. Bernard, who was capped for the Jamaica national team, is currently a personal trainer and was recently mentioned on That Peter Crouch Podcast. Career Narada Bernard began his career with Tottenham Hotspur before moving, as a trainee, to local rivals Arsenal, turning professional in August 1999. Christopher Luke Tardif (born 19 September 1979) is an English former professional footballer, who is currently the first team coach of the Guernsey Rangers Priaulx side. He has represented Northern Ireland at youth level, through a now closed loophole in the Home Nations agreement, and Guernsey at senior level. Wade Patrick Elliott (born 14 December 1978) is an English former professional footballer who is currently head coach of EFL League One club Cheltenham Town. He played mainly as a right midfielder but could also play as a central midfielder. Elliott began playing football as a youth player for Southampton before joining non-league Bashley. Steven Mark Fletcher (born 26 July 1972) is an English retired footballer who played as a forward for AFC Bournemouth, where he holds the club record for appearances and is currently a first team coach for the Premier League side. Fletcher began his career at Hartlepool United and made his first team debut in 1990. Two years later, he moved to AFC Bournemouth, where he would play for the next 15 seasons, scoring 88 league goals in 493 appearances. Chukwunyeaka Osondu "Chukki" Eribenne (born 2 November 1980) is an English former professional footballer. Career Born in Westminster, London, Eribenne began his career at Coventry City but didn't make an appearance for the first team.
