The 2002 Supercupa României was the 6th edition of Romania's season opener cup competition. The match was played in Bucharest at Stadionul Național on 10 August 2002, and was contested between Divizia A title holders Dinamo București and Cupa României champions Rapid București. Supercupa României
The Supercupa României ( en, Romanian Supercup) is a Romanian football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994, with the first edition being won by Steaua București. In 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. At that time, they faced Unirea Urziceni, the Liga I runners-up. The most successful performer so far has been FCSB with 6 wins, followed by Rapid București and CFR Cluj with 4 wins each up until 2021. Cornel Țălnar (born 9 June 1957) is a Romanian football manager and former player. Club career Cornel Țălnar, nicknamed "Țânțarul" (The Mosquito), was born on 9 June 1957 in Bărăbanț, Alba County and started to play at the junior squads of Unirea Alba Iulia. He played his first Divizia A match on 21 August 1977 representing Dinamo București in a 0–0 against SC Bacău. Iulian Tameș
Iulian Tameș (born 6 December 1978) is a Romanian footballer who plays as a central offensive midfielder for Liga III side Vedița Colonești. In his career, Tameș also played for important teams such as Dinamo București, FC Argeș Pitești, Politehnica Timișoara or FC Brașov, among others. Flavius Stoican
Flavius Vladimir Stoican (born 24 November 1976) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, currently in charge of Liga I club Botoșani. Club career He started his football career at FC Drobeta, but soon he left them for Universitatea Craviova, where he played for seven years. In the summer of 2002, Stoican moved to Romanian giants Dinamo București. While playing for Dinamo, Shakhtar Donetsk manager, Mircea Lucescu, spotted Stoican's abilities and brought him to the Ukrainian Premier League club in the summer of 2003. Ionel Daniel Dănciulescu (born 6 December 1976) is a Romanian former professional association football, footballer who played as a forward (association football), forward. Dan Alexa (born 28 October 1979) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player. As a defensive midfielder, he spent 16 years as a professional player. Florentin Petre (born 15 January 1976) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player. Club career Born in Bucharest, Petre started playing football at the youth center of Dinamo București, playing his first Divizia A match for the senior squad on 15 October 1994 in a 2–0 victory over Universitatea Cluj in which he opened the scoring in the 3rd minute. He was loaned to UTA Arad in the second half of that season, playing 8 Divizia A matches in which he scored one goal.
