2002 International Rules Series
The 2002 International Rules Series was the ninth annual International Rules Series and the fifth time a test series of international rules football has been played between Ireland and Australia since the series resumed in 1998. The series was won by Australia, who recorded their second win in the series following a seven-point win in the first test and a draw in the second test, finishing with a superior aggregate margin of 107–100 points. This marked just the second time in the history of the series that a match had finished in a draw, whilst the attendance at Dublin's Croke Park for the second test was the highest in the history of the series at that stage. International Rules Series
The International Rules Series is a senior men's international rules football competition between the Australia international rules football team (selected by the Australian Football League) and the Ireland international rules football team (selected by the Gaelic Athletic Association). The series is played biannually over two Test matches in November after the completion of the AFL Grand Final and the All-Ireland Football Final, which are both traditionally played in late September, and the winner is the team with the highest cumulative score over both Tests; however, there have been six unscheduled years since 2009. The matches are played using a set of compromise rules decided upon by both the two governing bodies; the game is known formally as international rules football. Ciaran McManus
Ciaran McManus is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for the Tubber club and at senior level for the Offaly county team from 1996 to 2011 and won a Leinster Senior Football Championship medal in 1997 and a National Football League Division 1 in 1998 and Division 2 in 2004. Before breaking into the senior team he helped Offaly to win the Leinster Under-21 Football Championship in 1995. He played for Ireland in the International Rules Series in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. He also played for UCD, winning a Dublin Senior Football Championship in 2002. Cormac McAnallen
Cormac McAnallen ( ga, Cormac Mac An Ailín; 11 February 1980 – 2 March 2004) was an Irish people, Irish Gaelic footballer who played for the Eglish St Patrick's GAC, Eglish St Patrick's club and the Tyrone county football team, Tyrone county team. With Tyrone, McAnallen won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2003, 2003, and twice won both the Ulster Senior Football Championship and National Football League (Ireland), National League titles. At underage level he won an All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, All-Ireland Minor and two All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship, All-Ireland Under-21 Championships with Tyrone. Brad Scott (Australian Footballer)
Bradley David Walter Scott (born 3 May 1976) is a former Australian rules footballer who is currently the coach of the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He played for Hawthorn and the Brisbane Lions, and was previously the coach of the North Melbourne Football Club from 2010 until 2019. Brisbane Lions
The Brisbane Lions is a professional Australian rules football club based in Brisbane, Queensland, that plays in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club was formed in late 1996 via a merger of the Melbourne-based 1883 foundation VFL club the Fitzroy Lions, and the 1987 Queensland based expansion club the Brisbane Bears, with the colours of maroon, blue, and gold being drawn from both parent clubs. Stephen Milne
Stephen Milne (born 8 March 1980) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A small forward, he held the record for the most games played by a player originally drafted via the Rookie Draft, however this was surpassed by the West Coast Eagles' Dean Cox in early 2014. Graham Geraghty
Graham Geraghty (born 17 May 1973), is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Meath county team. While still an inter-county player, he stood for the Fine Gael political party at the 2007 Irish general election; he was not elected. Playing career Geraghty represented his country against Australia in the International Rules Series in 1999, 2000 and 2006. Geraghty has also won an All-Ireland Minor Football Championship in 1990 and an All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship in 1993. John O'Keeffe (Gaelic Footballer)
John O'Keeffe (born 15 April 1951 in Tralee, County Kerry) is a former Irish people, Irish Gaelic footballer who played for the Austin Stacks club and at senior level for the Kerry county football team, Kerry county team between 1969 and 1984. He was a highly talented midfielder, and one of the most stylish and accomplished full-backs in Gaelic football history. Daniel Kerr
Daniel Alan Kerr (born 16 May 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). He played 220 games for the club between 2001 and 2013, as a hard-running inside midfielder. Kerr was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. His father Roger also played professional football, while his sister Samantha plays professional soccer. Kerr was recruited to West Coast with the 18th pick in the 2000 National Draft. Nathan Brown (Australian Footballer Born 1978)
Nathan Gordon Brown (born 10 February 1978) is a radio and television football commentator and a former Australian rules footballer for Richmond and the Western Bulldogs in the AFL. He played a total of 219 senior AFL matches and kicked 349 goals. His playing career ended after Richmond told him at the end of 2009 that he would no longer be required as a player. Pádraic Joyce
Pádraic Joyce (born 1 April 1977) is a Gaelic football manager and former player who played as a forward. He has been manager of the senior Galway county team since 2019. Joyce won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship twice with Galway as a player and received three All Star Awards.
