2002 Humboldt State Lumberjacks Football Team
The 2002 Humboldt State Lumberjacks football team represented Humboldt State University—now known as California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt—as a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) during the 2002 NCAA Division II football season. Led third-year head coach Doug Adkins, the Lumberjacks compiled an overall record of 1–10 with a mark of 0–3 in conference play, placing last out of four teams in the GNAC. The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. It has historically operated in the northwestern United States, but also includes schools in Alaska, Montana, and British Columbia. Fred Anderson Field at Hornet Stadium is a 21,195-seat college football and track stadium in the western United States, on the campus of California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State). it is the home field of the Sacramento State Hornets of the Big Sky Conference. Doug Adkins (American Football)
Douglas Martin Adkins (born October 3, 1963) is an Americana/ country musician and songwriter who grew up in Montana, United States. In 2020 Adkins chose Samu Haber and Rea Garvey, the coaches from Team Samu Rea for the anniversary of ''The Voice of Germany'' (season 10). For the blind audition, Adkins sang the classic country hit " Achy Breaky Heart" by Billy Ray Cyrus. Coach Mark Forster also turned around for Adkins, but in the end Adkins chose Haber and Garvey due to the country music elements they have in their songwriting.
