2002 Four Continents Championships
The 2002 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships was an international figure skating competition in the 2001–02 season. It was held at the Hwasan Indoor Ice Rink in Jeonju, South Korea on January 21–27. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The first compulsory dance was the Ravensburger Waltz and the second was the Blues. Jeonju
Jeonju () is the 16th largest city in South Korea and the capital of North Jeolla Province. It is both urban and rural due to the closeness of Wanju County which almost entirely surrounds Jeonju (Wanju County has many residents who work in Jeonju). The name Jeonju literally means "Perfect Region" (from the hanja (; jeon) for perfect, (; ju) for region). Gao Song (figure Skater)
Gao Song (; born March 20, 1981) is a Chinese former competitive figure skater. He is the 2002 Four Continents bronze medalist, 2003 NHK Trophy bronze medalist, 1999 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and 2006 Chinese national champion. Career Gao won the silver medal at the 1998 ISU Junior Grand Prix in China. In the 1999–2000 JGP series, he qualified for the final by winning gold in Norway and placing fourth in Japan. In December 1999, he was awarded the gold medal at the JGP Final in Gdańsk, Poland, ahead of Germany's Stefan Lindemann and Canada's Fedor Andreev. In March 2000, he finished sixth at the 2000 World Junior Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany, having placed fourth in his qualifying group, sixth in the short program, and sixth in the free skate. Bradley Santer (born 9 April 1982) is an Australian figure skater who competed in men's singles. He became a two-time Australian national champion (2003 and 2004) and appeared at multiple World and Four Continents Championships. He turned professional following the 2005–06 season. Derrick Delmore (born December 12, 1978) is an American figure skater. He is the 1998 World Junior champion, the 2000 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, 2000 Karl Schäfer Memorial bronze medalist, and 1999 U.S. National Collegiate champion. Personal life Derrick Delmore was born on December 12, 1978 at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. In 1995, he was awarded the Paderewski medal for a decade of playing classical piano at the national level. He attended Stanford University, graduating in June 2000 with a double major in communications and psychology. Derrick is married to San Francisco-based physician Dr. Kenneth Leong. Career Delmore started skating when he was eight years old. He competed in novice pair skating with Alix Clymer in the 1990–91 season and with Crystal Kim in the 1995–96 season. Yamato Tamura
is a Japanese figure skating coach and former competitor. As a single skater, he is a two-time Japanese national champion and represented Japan at the 1998 Winter Olympics, placing 17th. Career As a competitor Competing in single skating, Tamura won two Japanese national titles. He was selected to represent Japan at the 1998 Winter Olympics and placed 17th. Minoru Sano coached him during his career. Tamura landed a quadruple toe loop in competition in 1999 and a quadruple toe-triple toe combination in 2000. He retired from competition in 2004 and turned to coaching. Tamura also competed briefly in pair skating, winning the 1997 national title with Marie Arai. Roman Skorniakov
Roman Skorniakov (russian: Роман Скорняков; born 17 February 1976, in Sverdlovsk) is a Russian-born figure skater who mainly represented Uzbekistan. He represented Russia early in his career before switching to Uzbekistan in 1996. Skorniakov is the 1997–2003 Uzbekistani national champion. He represented Uzbekistan at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics, twice placing 19th. His highest placement at an ISU Championship was 7th at the 2000 and 2002 Four Continents Championships.
