2002 DFB-Pokal Final
The 2002 DFB-Pokal Final decided the winner of the 2001–02 DFB-Pokal, the 59th season of Germany's premier knockout football cup competition. It was played on 11 May 2002 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. Schalke 04 won the match 4–2 against Bayer Leverkusen to claim their 4th cup title. Route to the final The DFB-Pokal began with 64 teams in a single-elimination knockout cup competition. There were a total of five rounds leading up to the final. Teams were drawn against each other, and the winner after 90 minutes would advance. If still tied, 30 minutes of extra time was played. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). Andreas Möller
Andreas Möller (born 2 September 1967) is a German former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He is the head of the youth department at Eintracht Frankfurt. Club career At club level, Möller played for Eintracht Frankfurt (1985–87, 1990–92, 2003–04), Borussia Dortmund (1988–90, 1994–2000), Juventus (1992–94), and Schalke 04 (2000–03). In his first spell with Borussia Dortmund, he won the DFB-Pokal during the 1988–89 season. After moving to Italian side Juventus, he won the UEFA Cup in 1993, beating out his former club, Borussia Dortmund, 6–1 on aggregate, with Möller scoring one of the goals and providing three assists across both legs of the final. Victor Agali
Victor Okechukwu Agali (born 29 December 1978) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Career In 1997, Agali joined French club Olympique de Marseille. Finding it hard to establish a first team place, he quickly moved to Sporting Toulon Var and subsequently to Germany where he played in Hansa Rostock and Schalke 04. From 2005 to 2007 he played in the Turkish Süper Lig, returning to German Bundesliga team Rostock in August 2007. At Rostock Agali did not do well, after just one goal in 23 league matches he was given a free transfer to the Greek club Skoda Xanthi FC. After a season with Greek club Skoda Xanthi the Nigerian striker has signed for Anorthosis Famagusta. Jörg Böhme
Jörg Böhme (born 22 January 1974) is a German former footballer who played as midfielder, and who most recently was the manager of Energie Cottbus. Club career Böhme was born in Hohenmölsen, East Germany. As a professional footballer, Böhme played for FC Carl Zeiss Jena, 1. FC Nürnberg, Eintracht Frankfurt, 1860 München, Arminia Bielefeld, FC Schalke 04 and Borussia Mönchengladbach. On club level he won two German Cup trophies with FC Schalke 04.
