The Brabantse Pijl ( en, Brabant Arrow, french: italic=yes, Flèche Brabançonne or ''Flèche Branconne'') is a Flanders Classics road bicycle race held annually in Flemish Brabant and in Walloon Brabant, Belgium. Since 2005, the race has been organised as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. Zaventem used to be the city of start; in 2008 however, Leuven became the place of start. Until 2009, the finish was located in Alsemberg and, in 2010, it moved to Overijse. Zaventem () is a Belgian municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant. It is located in the Dijleland area, one of the three large recreational areas which together form the '' Groene Gordel'' ("Green Belt") around the Brussels-Capital Region. Wim Vansevenant (born 23 December 1971) is a Belgian former professional road bicycle racer. He is the father of fellow racing cyclist Mauri Vansevenant. Career Vansevenant was born in Diksmuide. In his early years he was active mainly in Bovekerke, where he lived with his parents, and its surroundings. Later he moved to Torhout where he has a small farm. Vansevenant turned professional in 1995. Vansevenant has been ''lanterne rouge'' of the Tour de France three times, in 2006, 2007 and 2008. He is the only man ever to have finished last three times. "Lanterne rouge is not a position you go for," Vansevenant told journalist Sam Abt in 2006. "It comes for you." Vansevenant retired after the 2008 season with plans to take over his parents' farm. Serge Baguet (18 August 1969 – 9 February 2017) was a Belgian professional road bicycle racer. Career He was the son of the ex-cyclist Roger Baguet. He was married to Sandra Rasschaert and they have a son (Sam). Baguet started his professional cycling career in 1991. He worked for Lotto for five years and one year for Vlaanderen 2002. His major victories were stages in the Tour du Limousin and the Tour of Britain. After six years pro-cycling, he became a roofer. In 2000, he made a comeback in the cycling-milieu (again with Lotto) and won his biggest victory in his career: a stage in the Tour de France. In 2005 he won two stages in the Vuelta a Andalucía and became Belgian national cycling champion. In 2006 and 2007, Baguet rode for the second big Belgian UCI ProTeam: Quick Step-Innergetic. Cristian Moreni
Cristian Moreni (born 21 November 1972 in Asola) is an Italian former road racing cyclist who rode for Cofidis, le Crédit par Téléphone in the UCI ProTour. Doping Moreni tested positive for testosterone at the end of the 11th stage of the 2007 Tour de France, on 25 July 2007 (stage 16). He was arrested after stage 16 by French gendarmes. He pleaded guilty, and did not request that a second sample be tested. Subsequently, to his arrest, Cofidis withdrew from the Tour. Moreni was suspended for two years following the scandal. In 2009, when his suspension ended, Moreni became the first cyclist to pay a fine of one year's salary to the UCI. Moreni wanted to return as a professional cyclist.
