2001–02 Primera División A Season
Primera División A ''(Méxican First A Division)'' is a Mexican football tournament. This season was composed of Invieno 2001 and Verano 2002. Real San Luis was the winner of the promotion to First Division after winning Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz in the promotion playoff. However, Veracruz was also promoted to First Division after defeating Club León in a promotional series. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX was the second tier of professional football in Mexico of the Mexican football league system. The champion of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top-flight tier). The bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (the third tier). It was sponsored by BBVA through its Mexican subsidiary BBVA, and was officially known as Ascenso BBVA MX. Formerly known as Primera División A (First Division A) the league rebranded in 2009 its name and competition format to Liga de Ascenso. It was rebranded in 2012 as Ascenso MX. Atlético Chiapas
Club Atlético Chiapas is a Mexican football club were play in the Segunda División de México, but it now called Chiapas F.C. Premier Reserves. The club is based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. History The club was founded in 1999 and played in the Primera A, Liga Premier de Ascenso and Liga de Nuevos Talentos. The team was founded in 1999 and was registered in the Segunda División, in 2001 it got a place in the Primera A after buying the license from Real San Sebastián. However, in the summer of 2002 Jaguares de Chiapas was created and registered in Primera División, so Atlético Chiapas was relocated to Mérida, Yucatán and was renamed Atlético Yucatán. Guerreros Acapulco
Guerreros de Acapulco were a Mexican football club that played in the Segunda División Profesional. The club was based in Acapulco de Juarez, Guerrero. History In 1987, Guerreros de Acapulco purchased the franchise from Iguala FC, permitting them to play in the third-tier Segunda División 'B' for the 1987–88 season. In 1990, they achieved promotion to Segunda División 'A' as runners-up in the championship phase. They only lasted one year in the second tier before being relegated. Guerreros de Acapulco were founding members of the new second division, Primera División A, and played in its inaugural 1994–95 season. The Club Deportivo de Fútbol Zitácuaro, commonly known as Zitácuaro, is a Mexican football club based in Zitácuaro. The club was founded in 1995, and currently plays in the Serie B of Liga Premier.
