The 2001 Zimbabwe Coca-Cola Cup was a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament held in Zimbabwe in late June 2001. It was a tri-nation series between the national representative cricket teams of the Zimbabwe, India and West Indies. West Indies won the tournament by defeating India by 16 runs in the final. The India national cricket team, Indian cricket team toured Zimbabwe from 28 May to 7 July 2001 and played two Test cricket, Test matches against Zimbabwe national cricket team, Zimbabwe, with each team winning one game match. This would be Zimbabwe's only Test victory over a side other than Bangladesh until they Pakistani cricket team in Zimbabwe in 2013, beat Pakistan in the second Test in 2013. Rahul Sharad Dravid (; born 11 January 1973) is an Indian cricket coach and former captain of the Indian national team, currently serving as its head coach. David Mutendera
David Travolta Mutendera (born 25 January 1979) is a former Zimbabwean international cricketer who played one Test match and nine One Day Internationals. He now teaches cricket and football at St John’s College in Harare. A tall seam bowler, with a height of almost two metres, he got bounce off the pitch and had the off cutter as his stock ball. He had little success at international level, however, as his Test debut saw him bowl 14 overs against New Zealand - coming on as third change in the first innings and not bowling at all in the second. Dirk Viljoen
Dirk Peter Viljoen (born 11 March 1977, in Enkeldoorn – now Chivhu) is a former cricketer who played 2 Tests and 53 One Day Internationals for Zimbabwe. An allrounder, Viljoen bowled slow left arm orthodox and batted in the middle order, left-handed. He won Zimbabwe's Young Cricketer of the Year Award in 1996–97 and was granted a scholarship to the Australian Cricket Academy. Career Viljoen debuted for Zimbabwe in Sharjah during the 1996/97 season, playing a One Day International against Sri Lanka. Mluleki Luke Nkala (born 1 April 1981) is a Zimbabwean international cricketer. He took the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar with his second ball in senior international cricket in 1999. Tatenda Taibu (born 14 May 1983) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer who captained the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He is a wicket-keeper-batsman. From 6 May 2004 to 5 September 2019, he held the record for being the youngest test captain in history when he captained his team against Sri Lanka until Rashid Khan of Afghanistan claimed the record. Brian Andrew Murphy (born 1 December 1976) is a Rhodesian-born former Zimbabwean cricketer and a former captain of limited over cricket for Zimbabwe. He played his cricket for Mashonaland in Zimbabwe and Western Province in South Africa. He played a total of 11 Test matches and 31 One Day Internationals for Zimbabwe, and was the surprise choice as captain when Heath Streak stepped down in 2001. Travis John Friend (born 7 January 1981) is a former Zimbabwean international cricketer and commercial pilot. During his short international career. he made sporadic appearances for Zimbabwe having played only 13 test matches and 51 ODI matches. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Andy Flower
Andrew Flower (born 28 April 1968) is a Zimbabwean cricket coach and a former cricketer. As a cricketer, he captained the Zimbabwe national cricket team. He was Zimbabwe's wicket-keeper for more than 10 years and is, statistically, the greatest batsman the country has produced. During his peak from October to December 2001, Flower was ranked as the best Test batsman in the world. He was widely acknowledged as the only Zimbabwe batsman of proper test quality in any conditions. After retirement, he served as the coach of the English cricket team from 2009 to 2014. Flower became the second foreign coach in the team's history. Currently, he is the Head Coach of Lucknow Super Giants in Indian Premier League. Dion Digby Ebrahim (born 7 August 1980) is a former Zimbabwean cricketer, who played Tests and ODIs. He now lives in New Zealand where he works as a cricket coach.
