2001 Kansas City Chiefs Season
The 2001 season was the Kansas City Chiefs' 32nd in the National Football League (NFL) and their 42nd overall. It was their first year under head coach Dick Vermeil and 13th under general manager Carl Peterson. They finished the regular season with a 6–10 record. Along with new coaches joining the team, new additions appeared on the Chiefs' roster, including running back Priest Holmes and quarterback Trent Green. Vermeil began to install a powerful offense similar to the one he installed in St. Louis to win Super Bowl XXXIV. AFC West
The American Football Conference – Western Division or AFC West is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division comprises the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. The division has sent teams to the Super Bowl eighteen times beginning with Super Bowl I when the Chiefs played the Green Bay Packers. As of the 2021 season, the Broncos and Raiders were tied with the most Super Bowl wins within the division with 3 each; The Broncos have appeared in the most Super Bowls in the division with 8 and the Raiders have appeared in 5. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. William Franklin Baber (born January 17, 1979 in Charlottesville, Virginia) is a former tight end in the National Football League (NFL) who played on 3 rosters in 4 seasons. Collegiate career After playing prep football at Western Albemarle High School, Baber played collegiate for the nearby Virginia Cavaliers. Pro career He was selected in the fifth round with the 141st overall pick of the 2001 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Baber played in just one game during his rookie season. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen.
