Television In Spain
Television in Spain was introduced in 1956, when the national state-owned public service television broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) started regular analog free-to-air terrestrial black and white broadcasts. Colour transmissions started in 1972 after two years of test transmissions, with all programming transmitted in color in 1977, and colour commercials starting in 1978. TVE held a monopoly on television broadcasting until regional public channels were launched during the 1980s and commercial television started nationwide in 1990. Digital terrestrial television was launched on 30 November 2005 with analog service discontinued on 3 April 2010. Currently, television is one of the leading mass media of the country, and by 2008 was in 99.7% of households in Spain according to INE statistics. Ana García Lozano (born 23 September 1963) is a Spanish journalist and presenter. Biography Ana García Lozano is the niece of singer Manolo Escobar. Manuel Bartolomé Carreño Molina (Valladolid, August 6, 1969) is a Spanish radio and television presenter. Since April 2006, he has presented the news sports program of Cuatro, a position in which he has been accompanied by Manolo Lama (between 2006 and 2016, a stage of time in which he was popularly known as Los Manolos) and Nico Abad (since 2016). Patricia Jesusa Gaztañaga Artolozaga (born 25 December 1966) is a Spanish retired television broadcaster. She began her media career broadcasting the ''Los 40 Principales'' radio programme when she was 17 years old and went on to join the Basque regional public service broadcaster EITB, presenting multiple programmes for it. Manuel María Arias Domínguez (born 26 April 1956 in Riaño, León, Spain) better known as Imanol Arias, is a Spanish actor and film director. Career Imanol Arias began his career with a travelling theatre group performing in the Basque Country of northern Spain. He debuted on TV in 1976 and his first film was Humberto Solás's ''Cecilia'' (1982). María Inés Ballester Muñoz (born 28 September 1958) is a Spanish journalist and presenter. Biography With a licentiate in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Inés Ballester started her career at Cadena SER, and later went on to the daily magazine of Radio Nacional de España.
