2001 Copa América
The 2001 Copa América was held in Colombia, from 11 to 29 July. It was organised by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body. Colombia won the tournament for the 1st time without conceding a goal. Brazil were the two-time defending champions, but they were knocked out of the tournament by Honduras after suffering a 0–2 defeat in the quarter-final. There is no qualifying for the final tournament. CONMEBOL's ten South American countries participate, along with two more invited countries, making a total of twelve teams competing in the tournament. Originally, Mexico and CONCACAF Champions Canada were invited. Prior to the tournament, three meetings were held by CONMEBOL authorities who were concerned about potential security issues in Colombia. On 1 July they announced the cancellation of the tournament. Tecos Fútbol Club, simply known as Tecos, is a Mexican professional Association football, football club based in Zapopan, Jalisco, and associated with the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG). It competes in Liga Premier de México, Liga Premier, the third level division of Mexican football league system, Mexican football. Founded in 1971 as Club de Fútbol Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and commonly known as Tecos UAG, then changed its name to Club Deportivo Estudiantes Tecos in 2009. Moisés Villarroel (Chilean Footballer)
Moisés Fermín Villarroel Ayala (born 12 February 1976) is a Chilean football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. Career He played for Colo-Colo, where he was part of the 2006 apertura, 2006 clausura, 2007 apertura, 2007 clausura, 2008 clausura championship teams. Now he is the captain of Santiago Wanderers club where he started his football career. Villarroel's international debut came in a match against Venezuela, which Chile won 6–0 on April 29, 1997. Ricardo Francisco Rojas Trujillo (born 7 May 1974) is a Chilean football manager and former player. A centre-back, he played for clubs like Universidad de Chile, América and Colo-Colo. Club career As a youth player, he was with Academia Santa Inés, a traditional Football Academy based in La Serena. Rojas began his professional career in his native country, playing for Club de Deportes La Serena from 1990 to 1993. After his stint at La Serena, he signed with Unión Española. The following year Rojas made his debut in the Chile national team, appearing in a game against Argentina. Cristian Antonio Montecinos González (born 29 December 1970) is a Chilean former footballer who played as a striker for several teams in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Mauricio Aros
Mauricio Fernando Aros Bahamonde (born 9 March 1976) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Club career Aros began his career in the youth squads of Deportes Concepción and debuted as a professional in 1995. In 1998, Aros left the club for Universidad de Chile and won two Primera División Chilean Championships and two Copa Chile trophies with the club. In 2001, he signed for Dutch club Feyenoord. He won the 2001–02 UEFA Cup with the club, as an unused substitute in the final, but did not receive regular playing time. Unión San Felipe
Unión San Felipe is a Chilean football club, their hometown is San Felipe in the V Región of Valparaíso. They play in the second level of the Chilean football league, the Primera B. The club was founded on October 16, 1956 with the merger of ''Internacional'' and ''Tarcisio''. In November 2009, the club won the Copa Chile, their second major title, after beating Deportes Iquique in the final 3–0. Santiago Wanderers
Club de Deportes Santiago Wanderers is a football club based in Valparaíso, a founding member of the Chilean Football Federation. Their home ground, Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander, is in the north-west of the city. Wanderers have played their games there since 1931 after moving from Barrio Puerto.
