2001 Copa América
The 2001 Copa América was held in Colombia, from 11 to 29 July. It was organised by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body. Colombia won the tournament for the 1st time without conceding a goal. Brazil national football team, Brazil were the defending champions who were knocked out from the tournament by Honduras national football team, Honduras after suffering a 0–2 defeat in the quarter-final. There is no qualifying for the final tournament. CONMEBOL's ten South American countries participate, along with two more invited countries, making a total of twelve teams competing in the tournament. Originally, Mexico national football team, Mexico and CONCACAF 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Champions Canada men's national soccer team, Canada were invited. Tecos F
Tecos Fútbol Club (often referred to by its nickname "Tecos") is a Mexican professional football club associated with the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara AC. It plays its home games in the ''Estadio 3 de Marzo'' (March 3 Stadium, named for the day the university was founded in 1935). The 30,015-seat facility is located in Zapopan, a municipality within the Guadalajara, Jalisco conurbation. Club de Fútbol América S.A. de C.V., commonly known as Club América or simply América, is a professional football club based in Mexico City. Nicknamed ''Las Águilas'' (The Eagles), it competes in Liga MX, the top tier of Mexican football. The club was founded in 1916, and since 1959 has been owned by media company Televisa. Ricardo Francisco Rojas
Ricardo Francisco Rojas Trujillo (born 7 May 1974) is a Chilean football manager and former player. A centre-back, he played for clubs like Universidad de Chile, América and Colo-Colo. Club career As a youth player, he was with Academia Santa Inés, a traditional Football Academy based in La Serena. Rojas began his professional career in his native country, playing for Club de Deportes La Serena from 1990 to 1993. After his stint at La Serena, he signed with Unión Española. The following year Rojas made his debut with the Chilean national team, participating in a game between Chile and Argentina. After his time at Unión, Rojas was transferred to Universidad de Chile during the 1997 season. Deportes Concepción is a Chilean football club based in the city of Concepción, Biobio Region. They currently play at the third tier of the Chilean League system, the Segunda División. Mauricio Aros
Mauricio Fernando Aros Bahamonde (born 9 March 1976) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Club career Aros began his career in the youth squads of Deportes Concepción and debuted as a professional in 1995. In 1998, Aros left the club for Universidad de Chile and won two Primera División Chilean Championships and two Copa Chile trophies with the club. In 2001, he signed for Dutch club Feyenoord. He won the 2001–02 UEFA Cup with the club, as an unused substitute in the final, but did not receive regular playing time. In 2002, Aros was loaned to Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv and in 2003 he was loaned to Saudi club Al-Hilal. Unión San Felipe
Unión San Felipe is a Chilean Football club, their hometown is San Felipe in the V Región of Valparaíso. They play in the second level of the Chilean football league, the Primera B. They were the Copa Chile champions, and played the 2010 Copa Sudamericana. The club was founded on October 16, 1956 with the merger of ''Internacional'' and ''Tarcisio''. Marcelo Enrique Corrales García (born 20 February 1971) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as a striker. Club De Deportes Santiago Wanderers
Club de Deportes Santiago Wanderers is a football club based in Valparaíso, a founding member of the Chilean Football Federation. Their home ground, Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander, is in the north-west of the city. Wanderers have played their games there since 1931 after moving from Barrio Puerto. Founded on 15 August 1892, it's the country's oldest club and the oldest football team in Latin America as well. Club León Fútbol Club, also known as León, is a Mexican professional football club based in León, Guanajuato, that competes in the Liga MX, the top flight of Mexican football.
