Lebanese Premier League
The Lebanese First Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الأولى), commonly known as the Lebanese Premier League (), is the top division of the Lebanese football league system. There are 12 teams competing in the league, which operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Lebanese Second Division. The league's first season began in May 1934, with Nahda winning the first title. The most successful club in the league is Ansar, with 14 league titles; they set a Guinness World Record by winning 11 consecutive league titles between 1988 and 1999. Seasons run from September to June with each team playing 21 games per season. Most games are played on weekend afternoons. Tadamon Sour Sporting Club ( ar, نادي التضامن الرياضي صور, lit=Solidarity Sporting Club Tyre), or simply Tadamon, is a football club based in Tyre, Lebanon, that competes in the . They play their home matches at the Tyre Municipal Stadium, and have won one Lebanese FA Cup and two Lebanese Challenge Cups. History In 1939, a group of students from Tyre, Lebanon, established a football team, which officially received its license in 1947. Due to the 1948 Palestinian exodus, a number of Palestinian players joined Tadamon Sour. The team played numerous games in Syria and Jordan, and hosted Egyptian club Al Ahly in Tyre.
