2000–01 England Hockey League Season
The 2000–01 English Hockey League season took place from September 2000 until April 2001. The men's title was won by Reading with the women's title going to Leicester. There were no playoffs to determine champions after the regular season but there was a competition for the top four clubs called the Premiership tournament which culminated with men's & women's finals on 22 April. Surbiton won the men's Premiership tournament and Slough claimed the women's premiership tournament. The Men's Cup was won by Guildford and the Women's Cup was won by Slough. Men's England Hockey League
The Men's England Hockey League is a field hockey league organized by England Hockey that features men's teams from England and Wales. Format Regular season There are 62 teams in the league, the top tier consists of a Premier Division of twelve teams. Below this is tier two, which consists of two ten-team Division One regional teams (North and South). The third tier consists of three regional conferences North, West, and East, all consisting of ten teams. The teams play each other home and away during an 18 week season from September to April. The league has a winter break between December and February. The winners of the Premier Division regular season automatically qualify to play in the Euro Hockey League. The men's 1XI play in the Men's England Hockey League. National Hockey Stadium (Milton Keynes)
The National Hockey Stadium was a sports stadium in Milton Keynes with a nominal capacity of around 4,000 seats: this was temporarily increased to 9,000 between 2003 and 2007. It was used by England Hockey as their national stadium from 1995 to 2003 and then as a professional football stadium by Wimbledon FC, rebranded as Milton Keynes Dons in 2004. In summer 2007, the Dons relocated to the new Stadium MK, near Bletchley, leaving the hockey stadium without a tenant. Clifton Robinsons Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at Westbury-on-Trym in Bristol. It was formed by the merging of Clifton Ladies Hockey Club and Robinsons Hockey Club.
