2000 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 2000 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 110th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 9 September 2000 and ended on 15 October 2000. Toomevara were the defending champions. On 15 October 2000, Toomevara won the title after a 2–10 to 0–11 defeat of Thurles Sarsfields in the final at Semple Stadium. It was their 16th championship title overall and their third title in succession. Paddy O'Brien from Toomevara and Johnny Enright from Thurles Sarsfields were the championship joint top scorers. Cappawhite GAA
Cappawhite GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club is located in the village of Cappawhite, County Tipperary, bordering on County Limerick in Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It competes in the West Division Gaelic football and hurling competitions of Tipperary GAA. The club's tradition is in hurling, having won major honours through the decades. However, the club achieved major football success in the 1970s when the West Division Senior Football championship was also won. Liam Cahill
Liam Cahill (born 13 October 1977) is an Irish hurling manager, former selector and player. He has been manager of the Tipperary county team since 18 July 2022. Playing career College Cahill first came to prominence as a hurler with Scoil Ruáin in Killenaule. In 1992 he was a member of the school's junior hurling team that won the All-Ireland Vocational Championship after a 3-04 to 2-04 defeat of St Colman’s Vocational School from Gort. Club Cahill joined the Ballingarry club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. He enjoyed championship success in the minor grade, winning back-to-back championship medals in 1994 and 1995. As a member of the Ballingarry senior hurling team, Cahill won South Tipperary Championship medals in 1996, 1998 and 2001. Cahill transferred to the Thurles Sarsfields club in 2007. John O'Brien (hurler)
John O'Brien (born 3 January 1982) is an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Toomevara, County Tipperary, O'Brien first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2001 league. O'Brien went on to enjoy a lengthy career, and won two All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals and one National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. At club level O'Brien is a two-time Munster medallist with Toomevara. In addition to this he has also won seven championship medals and three county final Man of the Match awards. His brother, Paddy O'Brien, is also an All-Ireland medallist with Tipperary. Ger "Redser" O'Grady (born 1979 in Thurles, County Tipperary) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Thurles Sarsfields and is a former member of the Tipperary senior inter-county team. Ger O'Grady was born in Thurles, County Tipperary in 1979. Johnny Enright
John Enright (born 1977) is an Irish hurling selector and former hurler who predominantly played for Tipperary Senior Championship club Thurles Sarsfields. He played for the Tipperary senior hurling team at various times over a six-year period, during which time he usually lined out as a right corner-forward. Enright began his hurling career at club level with Thurles Sarsfields. He joined his older brother Eddie on the club's senior team as a 16-year-old in 1993 and, towards the end of his career in 2012, he won a Munster Club Championship medal. Enright was also part of four Tipperary Club Championship-winning teams, including as captain in 2009. Templemore
Templemore () is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is a civil parish in the historical barony of Eliogarty. It is part of the parish of Templemore, Clonmore and Killea in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. Moneygall GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in County Tipperary in Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the North Tipperary divisional championships, although the club is mainly known for hurling. Bouladuff (), also known as Inch and The Ragg, is a village near Thurles in County Tipperary, Ireland. According to the 2016 CSO census, the population of the Inch electoral division was 395.
