The 2000 Malta International Tournament (known as the Rothmans Tournament for sponsorship reasons) was the tenth edition of the Malta International Tournament. Gilbert Agius
Gilbert Agius (born 21 February 1974) is a former professional Maltese footballer, currently head coach of Malta national under-21 football team. Playing career Agius was the captain of his hometown club side Valletta F.C. and is one of the most well known and highly respected figures in Maltese football history. He is hailed as a hero by the Valletta F.C. fans, due to his loyalty to his hometown club, where he played since 1990, bar a short spell during the first half of the 2001–02 season which he spent on loan to then-Serie C1 club Pisa. His number 7 shirt is retired in respect of his loyalty and great service to the club. He is the most capped player and the all time goal scorer at Valletta F.C. John Buttigieg (footballer)
John Buttigieg (born 5 October 1963) is a Maltese football manager and former player. His last managerial role was being head coach of Floriana. As a player, he played as a defender and is best remembered for his eight-year spells in the Maltese Premier League with Sliema Wanderers and Floriana. He also played in England for Brentford and Swindon Town and won 97 caps for the Malta national team. After retiring as a player, he managed Birkirkara, Malta, Sliema Wanderers and Floriana. Playing career Sliema Wanderers A sweeper, Buttigieg began his career at hometown Maltese Premier League club Sliema Wanderers at age 16. Vioresin Sinani (born 4 November 1977) is an Albanian former footballer who played as a striker. He spent the majority of his career at Vllaznia Shkodër as well as stints with Dinamo Tirana, Tirana and Besa Kavajë in Albania. He also played for NK Varteks in Croatia and Kayserispor in Turkey. He is Vllaznia's and the Albanian Superliga's record goalscorer. Sinani was also an Albanian international, making 8 appearances with under-21 squad and 4 with senior squad. Óscar Sonejee
Óscar Sonejee Masand (born 26 March 1976) is an Andorran former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He began his club career as a youth player with Sant Julià before playing for several teams based in Andorra, including three spells with FC Andorra and three with Lusitanos. He also spent four years with FC Santa Coloma, helping the side win two Primera Divisió titles. He retired from playing at the age of 40 in January 2017 during his third spell with Lusitanos. George Mallia
George Mallia (born 10 October 1978 in Sliema, Malta) is a retired professional footballer who last played for Maltese Premier League side Qormi FC as a midfielder. Playing career George made his debut with Sliema Wanderers in the Maltese Premier League in the season 1995–1996. In the season 1998-1999 he joined Floriana. In 2002-2003 he joined Birkirkara and became one of the best players on the team. Edvin Murati (born 12 November 1975) is an Albanian former professional footballer. He played for Panserraikos FC and Iraklis F.C. in Greece.
