2000 Indian Wells Masters
The 2000 Indian Wells Open (also known as Tennis Masters Series Indian Wells) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 27th edition of the Indian Wells Masters, and was part of the ATP Masters Series of the 2000 ATP Tour, and of the WTA Tier I Events, Tier I Series of the 2000 WTA Tour. Both the men's and the women's events took place at the newly built Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, United States. The women's tournament was played from March 10 through March 18 and the men's from March 13 through March 19. The ATP Masters 1000 tournaments (previously known as ATP Masters Series) is an annual series of nine tennis tournaments featuring the top-ranked players on the ATP Tour. Thomas Karl Johan Enqvist (born 13 March 1974) is a Swedish former professional tennis player. He reached the final of the 1999 Australian Open – Men's singles, 1999 Australian Open and won a total of 19 singles titles, including three ATP Tour Masters 1000, Masters titles. Magnus Norman (born 30 May 1976) is a Swedish tennis coach and retired professional tennis player. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world No. 2 singles ranking on June 12, 2000.
