The 2000 European Road Championships were held in Kielce, Poland, between 3 August and 5 August 2000. Regulated by the European Cycling Union. The event consisted of a road race and a time trial for men and women under-23. Kielce
Kielce (, yi, קעלץ, Keltz) is a city in southern Poland, and the capital of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. In 2021, it had 192,468 inhabitants. The city is in the middle of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains (Holy Cross Mountains), on the banks of the Silnica River, in the northern part of the historical Polish province of Lesser Poland. Kielce has a history back over 900 years, and the exact date that it was founded remains unknown. Kielce was once an important centre of limestone mining and the vicinity is famous for its natural resources like copper, lead and iron, which, over the centuries, were exploited on a large scale. There are several fairs and exhibitions held in Kielce throughout the year. Ceris Styler (née Gilfillan) (born 3 January 1980) is a British racing cyclist who represented Great Britain at the 2000 Summer Olympics, where she placed 14th in the women's road time trial and 27th in the road race. She was both British National Road Race Champion and British National Time Trial Champion in 2000, and came fifth in the time trial at the 2000 UCI Road World Championships. Vera Carrara (born 6 April 1980) is an Italian professional racing cyclist. Carrara was born in Alzano Lombardo and joined the G.S. Valoti Arredamenti at the age of seven.
