2000 Dallas Cowboys Season
The 2000 season was the Dallas Cowboys' 41st in the National Football League (NFL). Cowboys owner Jerry Jones promoted the team's long-time defensive coordinator, Dave Campo, to be the fifth head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. This was also Troy Aikman's last season with the team. Offseason The loss of star wide receiver Michael Irvin to retirement led Jerry Jones to trade the team's first round pick in the 2000 draft and the 2001 draft to the Seattle Seahawks for wide receiver Joey Galloway. Pro Bowl cornerback Deion Sanders was also released after five seasons with the team. He later signed with the Cowboys' NFC East division rival Washington Redskins. NFC East
The National Football Conference – Eastern Division or NFC East is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Joe Tarrod Bowden, III (born February 25, 1970) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Houston Oilers / Tennessee Oilers / Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys. Kareem Maktrel Larrimore (born April 21, 1976 in Los Angeles, California) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. Dwayne Lewis Goodrich (born May 29, 1978) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Tennessee. Early years Goodrich attended Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Phillippi Sparks
Phillippi Dwain Sparks (born April 15, 1969) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League. Sparks graduated from Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1987. He attended and played football for Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona, from 1987 through 1989. Sparks played a key role on Glendale Community College's 1988 National Junior College Athletic Association national championship football team. He then attended Arizona State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He was drafted by the New York Giants as the 13th pick in the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft. Daryl Peter "Moose" Johnston (born February 10, 1966) is a former fullback in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Syracuse University.
