1st Hum Awards
The 1st Servis Hum Awards Ceremony (referred to as Hum Awards), presented by the Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel (HTNEC), sponsored by Servis, Telenor and co-sponsored by Nokia Lumia, honour the best dramas of 2012 of Hum (its own channel) and to honour Fashion and Music. The ceremony took place on March 12, 2013, at the Expo Center in Karachi beginning at PM/IST 8:00 p.m. and was televised on 28 April 2013. During the ceremony, the Hum Channel presented Awards in 24 regular categories along with in 3 honorary and in 2 special categories. The ceremony was televised in Pakistan by Hum TV. Hosts Mikaal Zulfiqar, Mahira Khan and co-host Vasay Chaudhry became the first ever hosts of the ceremony. During the ceremony, Hum held its annual Honorary Awards, which were presented by host Bushra Ansari. Karachi Expo Centre
Karachi Expo Center is the convention center where Pakistani products are showcased internationally. The center consists of 8 halls. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan also helps support the exhibitions at the center. IDEAS exhibition Pakistani military arms and equipment exhibitions are held under the theme 'IDEAS' (International Defence Exhibition and Seminar). This is a four-day exhibition. The Hum Award for Best Director Drama Serial is one of the Awards of Merit presented by the Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel (HTNEC) to directors working in the drama industry. While nominations for Best drama Director are made by members in the Hum's Directing branch, the award winners are selected by the Hum membership as a whole. Asad Qureshi
Asad Qureshi is a British filmmaker who was kidnapped on 26 March 2010 by a militant group called the " Asian Tigers" in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas along the Afghanistan border, where he was making a film in North Waziristan and interviewing Taliban leaders. Qureshi was accompanied by his driver, Rustam Khan, and two senior members of the Inter-Services Intelligence, Khalid Khawaja and Colonel Imam during his trip. All four were abducted; Khawaja was killed and his body was found a month later in Mir Ali with an attached note accusing him of spying for the United States and being responsible for killing people during the Siege of Lal Masjid.
