1999 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 1999 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held in Zagreb, Croatia , image_flag = Flag of Croatia.svg , image_coat = Coat of arms of Croatia.svg , anthem = "Lijepa naša domovino"("Our Beautiful Homeland") , image_map = , map_caption = , capit ... between November 21 and 29, 1998. Younger figure skaters competed for the title of World Junior Champion. Due to the large number of participants, the men's and ladies' qualifying groups were split into groups A and B. It was the last World Junior Figure Skating Championships to be held in the fall. After the 1999 Championships (which were called such even though they took place in the fall of 1998), the event was moved to the spring. Fedor Andreev
Fedor Vladimirovich Andreev (russian: Фёдор Владимирович Андреев, born March 2, 1982) is a former figure skater with dual Russian and Canadian citizenship. In single skating, he is the 2003 Canadian bronze medalist and the 1999 junior national champion. In 2010, he switched to ice dancing and competed for Russia with partner Jana Khokhlova for one season. Personal life Andreev was born in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. His family emigrated to Canada when he was seven. He is the son of ice dance coach/choreographer Marina Zueva, and was formerly coached by his stepfather, Alexei Tchetverukhin. In addition to skating, Andreev also took part in SCCA autocross and drag races. He enjoys drifting and has worked as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch, runway shows, as well as commercials. Oscar Peter
Oscar Peter (born June 11, 1981) is a Swiss former competitive figure skater. As a single skater, he is a six-time Swiss national medalist, winning silver from 1998–2000 and bronze from 2001–2003. He took up ice dancing in 2003 and teamed up with Leonie Krail. Together, they became three-time Swiss national champions (2006, 2008, 2009) and competed in the final segment at four ISU Championships – 2006 Europeans, 2008 Europeans, 2009 Europeans, and 2008 Worlds. They were coached by Natalia Linichuk and Gennadi Karponosov in Aston, Pennsylvania. As of 2016, Peter is working as a skating coach and choreographer in the UK and around Europe. Karel Zelenka
Karel Zelenka (born March 31, 1983) is a Czech-Italian former competitive figure skater. He is a five-time (2003–2007) Italian national champion and competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics. He qualified to the free skate at eleven ISU Championships – three World, three World Junior, and five European Championships – and finished in the top ten twice. Personal life Zelenka was born in 1983 in Louny, Czechoslovakia. His father is a figure skating coach. The family moved to Italy when the younger Zelenka was six years old. Gregor Urbas
Gregor Urbas (born 20 November 1982 in Jesenice) is a Slovenian former competitive figure skater. He is a three-time Golden Spin of Zagreb champion, a five-time Triglav Trophy champion, the 2006 Ondrej Nepela Memorial champion, and a nine-time (2001–2009) Slovenian national champion. He competed at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics. He qualified for the free skate at nineteen ISU Championships – six Worlds, eight Europeans, and five Junior Worlds. Urbas began skating when he was about eight years old. His first coach was Mojca Kurbos. He joined Elena Babitskaia and Valeri Babitski by 2001. They coached him until the end of the 2004–05 season. Parker Blair Pennington (born September 13, 1984) is an American figure skater. He won silver medals at the 2006 Nebelhorn Trophy and 2007 Finlandia Trophy, three gold medals on the JGP series, and bronze at the 2002 JGP Final. Pennington won U.S. national titles on four levels—junior (2001), novice (1998), intermediate (1996), and juvenile (1995). Personal life Pennington was born on September 13, 1984 in Hartford, Connecticut. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 2003. Stefan Lindemann
Stefan Lindemann (born 30 September 1980) is a German retired figure skater. He is the 2004 World bronze medalist, 2005 European bronze medalist, 2000 World Junior champion, and a seven-time (2000, 2002, 2004–2007, 2010) German national champion. Career Stefan Lindeman started skating at age 4 in Erfurt at the local skating club. At age 12 he wanted to play ice hockey, but his mother kept him in figure skating. His coach was Ilona Schindler.
