The 1999 USL D3 Pro League was the 13th season of third-division soccer in the United States, and was the third season of now-defunct USL D3 Pro League, and its first since the name change to United Soccer League. USL D3 Pro League
The USL Second Division (commonly referred to as USL-2) was a professional men's soccer league in the United States, operated by United Soccer Leagues (USL). It was at the third tier of soccer in the United States, behind Major League Soccer (top tier) and the USL First Division (second tier), and one step up from the USL Premier Development League and other leagues in the fourth tier. Stanislaus County Cruisers
California Gold was an American soccer team which began playing under the Gold moniker in 2002. The club was founded in 1997 as the Stanislaus County Cruisers. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2006, when the team left the league and the franchise was terminated. They team played its games at the stadium on the grounds of Peter Johansen High School in the city of Modesto, California. The team's colors were gold, red and white. Houston Hurricanes
The Houston Hurricanes were a soccer club that competed in the United Soccer Leagues from 1996 to 2000. Description and history The Hurricanes were a Division III (D-3) franchise, and their Major League Soccer affiliation was with the Kansas City Wizards owned by Joseph "Joey" Marc Serralta Ives and family making him the first Puerto Rican to own a professional sports franchise in the United States. Attendance averaged about 1,000 or less per game for the club's five seasons, and the franchise ceased playing in the USISL after the 2000 season and participated in the Lone Star Alliance before folding in 2001. The team's most successful season was 1997, when they reached .500 in the regular season and won the 1997 Divisional Championship before losing its Regional Championship game to the San Francisco Bay Seals. Tulsa Roughnecks (1993–2000)
The second Tulsa Roughnecks were an American soccer team that played in the United Soccer Leagues from 1993–99. History In January 1993, Tulsa businessman "Mack" Amini applied for a franchise in the United States Interregional Soccer League. The application was approved and the team began play in the summer of 1993 under head coach Ali Adibi who had been coaching the Southern Nazarene soccer team. In 1994, Adibi was named Coach of the Year. Adibi resigned in 1995 and was replaced by Zeljko "Vince" Krsnik. Krsnik lasted only three weeks before being fired. Adibi replaced him as interim coach, but the coaching turmoil led to drop in the standings. Tulsa, which had finished in either first or second place each season, now finished in seventh. The Austin Lone Stars were a soccer club that competed in the SISL, USISL and United Soccer Leagues from 1987 to 2000. The club originally started in 1987/88 as the Austin Sockadillos in the original indoor SISL league. They became the Austin Lone Stars in 1994. History In 1987, Fernando Marcos established the Austin Sockadillos. Coached by Tony Simoes and assisted by Wolfgang Suhnholz, the team played in the Southwest Indoor Soccer League (SISL). The Chico Rooks were an American soccer team, founded in 1993 by Dave Stahl and Eric Snedeker. The team was a member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2006. Initially, the team's management announced that they would spend the 2007 NPSL season on hiatus while they re-organised and consolidated their finances; the Rooks never returned to active competition and the franchise was cancelled by the NPSL at the end of the 2007 season.
