Polini S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of tuning parts for motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters. Among other products, they produce cylinders and variators for both racing and road use. They also produce pocket bikes with 50cc up to 15 hp. The company was founded when the Italian soldier Battista Polini returned from his service in World War II and started making bicycles, which sold very well. The first logo of the company was a ram, which was the coat of arms of Battista's battalion. When the first Vespa and Lambretta scooters emerged in the 1940s, manufacture of parts for these was started. Today, Polini is owned by Battista Polini's three sons Carlo, Franco, and Piero. Mark Willis (motorcyclist)
Mark Willis (born 3 May 1976 in Narrabri, NSW, Australia) is an Australian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Career In 1991 Willis won the NSW championship in Australia. He later became the Australian Long Track Champion in 1993 and 'Australian Rider of the Year' in 1996. He participated in the Australian Superbike Championship in 1997 with the Factory Suzuki Superbike team, Troy Bayliss was his teammate. Willis took his first race win in the wet at Eastern Creek and finished 4th in the championship. In 1998 Willis was a wildcard ride in the Superbike World Championship at Phillip Island saw Willis finish 6th in Race 1 and 9th in Race 2. This was on a private Suzuki, all the more impressive as he beat both factory Suzuki riders along with many of the other WSB regulars. Sébastien Gimbert (born 9 September 1977 in Le Puy-en-Velay, France) is a professional motorcycle road racer. He currently competes in the Endurance FIM World Championship aboard a Honda CBR1000RR. His greatest success has come in the Endurance World Championship, and the bulk of his career has been spent on Yamaha YZF-R1 with more recent seasons spent on BMW S1000RR and Honda CBR1000RR motorcycles. Régis Laconi (born 8 July 1975 in Saint-Dizier, Haute-Marne) is a French former professional motorcycle racer. In he competed in the Superbike World Championship for DFX on a Ducati. He was runner-up in , and has won races in both Grand Prix in 500cc engine capacity classification and the Superbike World Championship. Early career Laconi has a French mother and Italian father. He started racing in 1991 in the French 125cc championship. He won this title in 1992, the French 250cc title a year later, and the European 250cc champion in 1994. Jurgen van den Goorbergh (born 29 December 1969) is a Dutch former professional motorcycle road racer also known as ''The Flying Dutchman''. His son, Zonta van den Goorbergh, is also a motorcycle racer and currently competes in Moto2. Garry McCoy (born 18 April 1972 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional motorcycle racer. He has won races in the 125 cc and 500 cc World Championships, as well as in the Superbike World Championship. He is noted for his oversteering style of riding, earning him the nickname "The Slide King". Career McCoy was born in Sydney and in his late teens was a motorcycle speedway rider in his home state of New South Wales, racing alongside such riders as Todd Wiltshire and Craig Boyce. Juan Bautista Borja (born 3 February 1970) is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from Spain. Having won the FCIM 125cc European championship in 1992, he first raced on the world stage at the 1993 FIM motorcycle Grand Prix at the Circuito del Jarama, Madrid, but retired on lap 19 in the 250cc class riding a privateer Honda. For 1994, he gained a series of one-off privateer rides in the 250cc class, starting with an Aprilia at the 1994 Australian motorcycle Grand Prix, and finishing the season on a Honda, placing him 30th in the championship. Moving to the 500cc class for 1995, he rode out the season placing twelfth on the ROC-Yamaha.
